We need to realize this behaivor shall not be tolerated period must less on our own soil. No matter what your view is of our President he is our leader, and at least he has attacked and continues to fight terroism unlike Clinton who knew about Bin Laden and did nothing about it. After doing 2 tours in Iraq, and dealing with terroists.Trust me; it's better to fight the terroists in the middle east instead of here on our own turf!

I find it hard to come to the defense of Bush under any circumstance right now. My country right or wrong is not the same thing as my president right or wrong. I'm not mad he referred to Bush as the devil because I know he's not a devil. I do understand however, the imperious, self-righteous nature of Bush, and believe he and Cheney should resign from office. I would defend him from harm, but the word "devil" is just an expression of anger and frustration of dealing with a person whose self-concept is greater than what it really is. I have to remind myself to not follow a similar path. Bush is too self-serving and has placed the desires of those who funded his presidential campaigns over the needs of those who voted for him. Just demonsrates how broken our system has become when the funders rather than the voters get the credit and benefits from the office they bought and paid for. The presidency should not be for sale at any price.

Boss, put me in the weeds, I think Hugo Chavez needs a reality check, I dont understand why we have become so soft, lets face it everyone, we are under fire, time to fire back, with both barrels or one well aimed, I dont like or president but he represents our nation, us.... If he is corrupt we are all corrupt for not doing our part to remove him from office or make calls to our congressmen and senators, is Mr Bush the only guilty one or should more or us look in the mirror and self evaluate

I find it funny that the representative Rangel commenting when he and his associates have been saying the same thing about Bush. Did they change their mind about our President? I find Chavez's statements sophmoric. The sooner we ween our selves from foreign oil the better we will be. How dare we trust Chavez' and Iran for our oil. But nobody's doing anything about that. We have oil in Alaska, we have oil in the gulf, we alternative fuels but why don't we take advantage of that till we find better alternatives.

My how the world has changed. Even during W.W.II FDR nor Churchill or even Hitler nor Goebbels got on the radio calling the other leaders four or five letter names and this was a World War.

Defending the rule of law is much more important than defending a personality. Unfortunately, a personality named Bush has done more to ignore that law and its expression of public interest than any other president in memory. Bush has brought more insecurity, entropy and systemic collapse to America than bin Laden.

I can't wait to see how much you will have figured out at 48.

Funny that both GW and Chavez believe they are good Christians and yet both view the other as devil. Problem with this administration is lack of dialogue. You need to engage your opponents. For example, Ahmadinejad of Iran seemed reasonable. Iran has fought wars against America's enemies. Our biggest enemies are those whom we consider friendly governments: Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, China and Mexico. Look who is really hurting America not whom the Special Interest groups are blaming.

Wake up America! Neo-cons, lobbyists and Special Interests are destroying the foundation of this nation!

Ok guys And gals this is really simple.
1. No man should call another man "the Devil".
2. oil prices are up because of the war and our own increased demand.
3. no matter if we are republcans, democrates, independents, black, white, hispanic,.... WE ARE AMERICANS!!!! we should be defending our chief of state.
I am 24 and i have that much figured out

Chavez is playing third-world politics. And it works against Bush because the Bush administration has a terrible reputation (and a record to substantiate it) throughout the world - especially the third-world.

The observation that Venezuela will be vieing for a Security Council seat is dead on. Nations that are sick and tired of the American bully will be all-too-happy to line up behind someone who is swaggering enough to take Bush on.

An we should keep in mind that Bush isn't innocent of slamming other world leaders. People who live in glass houses . . .

Kennedy, I wondered about that and don't know the economics of it but would China and Europe be able to make up the difference. It seems as though we could have more of an economic impact on them by not buying their oil than they could on us. Besides how many countries would be falling over themselves to get the US oil market?

There are no simple solutions to the many problems facing the world. If democracy is the quest, then it is key to acknowledge all the voices that wish to speak. Sensationalistic language from any side only slows the debate. One side calls it the "axis of evil" and the other the "evil empire". The main point is that if you are shouting you're probably not listening. No one has been called to the principal's office for debate. We're still in the playground shouting and throwing stones, calling our friends to take sides. As far as free energy good luck. The world is stuck to the teet on this one. I wonder if that guy BoBcat571 walks or rides a bike to work. Prbably drives a Hummer. All I can say is that the god's must be crazy to let us play with fire like this.

"We don't need their oil either...We Americans can do just fine without them...."
*sigh*
If only it were that easy, but the economic effects my friend, economic effects.
Do you really think the president cares if the people pay more for their gas?
No he doesnt, what matters is the industry.
No middle east and venezualen oil=Another Great depression.
But will be worse, as it wont be global so they will just sell the oil to china, europe, everyone else.
Only the US would suffer, venezuela, Iran etc will do just fine.
So its the absolute opposite of what you say.
Rejecting that oil is absolutely not an option.
We may not like it but restricting access to oil is the modern version of grabbing a country by the balls.
Give the president some credit, if he hasnt done anything its because he is smart he knows that political actions are like playing with dominos.
You push one because you dont like it and it will push elsewhere causing problems for us.

plus it's possible that cheney is more of a devil than the devil himself...that is if he actually existed somewhere beyond the christian cartoonish characterization of the boogey man

ok, i would just like to say in the devil's defense that he's really not so bad...but people like george bush really give satan a bad name, and the devil is really getting the poopy end of this stick...it would have been more appropriate for chavez to suggest that george bush is like *** cheney whose foul, soul-stealing stench is everywhere...

We can't remain passive in a world full of loose nukes and loony rulers. The future of your children is exactly the point. We will all face nuclear annhialation if someone doesn't have the balls to stand up to these maniacs. What country besides the US is going to do it? It is awe inspiring that we still have men and women who are brave enough to enlist. God, knows I probably wouldn't be.

All this much ado about nothing is quite funny.
It's not like the 'devil' is real.

Bush calls countries 'axis of evil'.
He calls the leader of Korea a pygmie.

All this name calling by grown men and so-called world leaders is cute. They are such ordinary boys. LOL

To luv2bfree:
This is not WWIII----yet. If we invade Iran, it could very easily turn into that. America cannot police the world. There will always be people like Ahmadinejad, Hussein & Chavez. Which side am I on? I'm on the side of America & the American people. What we need in America @ this point in time, are leaders who do not have a hidden agenda, who care about this great country & who are effective in dealing with the problems @ hand while thinking & planning ahead.
You said Bush should instate a full draft. I have (3) draft-age children. I would totally oppose any attempt to reinstate the draft. I don't want my sons & daughter sent to fight a useless, murderous war(s) that is being fought primarily for political reasons, or for oil. Let Bush & Cheney send their children to fight! Bush & Cheney's cold-hearted indifference to placing our servicemen/women in harms way in order to further their own greedy personal gain leaves me with a bitterness that I cannot express in words.
As for what Chavez said about Bush, I feel this way:
I've never liked Chavez. I do think he's right about Bush. I only wish he had included Cheney; he's the one that I'm truly afraid of. Bush & Cheney & the Bush adm. are a disgrace to the patriots who have died & been maimed defending America. What Chavez did was an example of one thug telling another thug what he really is.
