Says Pulling U.S. Troops Out Now Would Be 'Absolutely Disastrous'
- Forget all the rhetoric! This invasion of Iraq, that was based on what Sadaam might have (Weapons of Mass Destruction WMA's) and what he might do with them if he really had them, has not cost us over $300 billion and more importantly, over 2630 of our brave and best. Has the "administration" failed us? The way I remember, after 9/11, the number one priority was Osama Bin Ladin. He's still out there! Nuff said..........

You need not worry-- all the collateral damage was done by Bush to himself and his vanishing credibility. Ditto for Rumsfeld. Bush and Rumsfeld have discovered their absurd analogies make them the butt of jokes for all but the GOP faithful-- an increasingly isolated tribe.
Bush and Rumsfeld cannot overheat their own rhetoric, or people will notice. You might think, by now, they had learned at least that much in trying to fool the American people. All in all, their theatrics demonstrate only how little relation they actually bear to any heroic tradition.
Bush finally reached for Churchill (really reaching) to rescue himself from his own debacle, disgrace and ultimate oblivion. Lately, Bush has found that wrapping himself in the flag is not enough anymore to hide his misdeeds. Bush spin doctors had to come up with some other gimmick, say, a heroic figure from history like Winston Churchill.
So, stay tuned! Can Churchill's reputation be hijacked to the service of the neocon gang which owns George Bush? Bush gave it a try, but reviews of Bush and Rumsfeld are not promising. Some suggest it is they who are the Nazis in this B-movie. - Reply to this comment
- Iraq is like the wild west and the outlaws are running things. A good Sheriff has to stand up then the people have to stand with him to run the outlaws out of town. Not enough people are standing up. The people of Iraq are going to have to get it together soon. President Bush has a hard sell.

- I think that Bush is back on the stump about the Iraq war mostly because he thinks that those people who still believe him (and it's amazing that there are still a lot of them out there)want to hear that same old tune one more time! I suppose our "president in the background", *** Cheney, told Bush to get out there and do some damage control after that melon head of a Secretary of Defense insulted everyone who didn't support the war in his babblings on Tuesday. With 9/11 approaching all I have to ask is; Why isn't Osama Bin Laden dead?!!!

- I guess the chimp just does not get it. The protests are about the way he, and the co-president are handling the war. They lied to get this war and now they haven't the foggiest idea on how to conduct it.
I don't think we need more hollow words from the Whitehouse, we need to see results in Iraq.
A really good first step would be to fire Rumsfeld, and replace him with someone who knows what they are doing. - Reply to this comment

- Oh boy, I can hardly wait. I wonder if he is going to add anything new to same old line he has used add nausem over the past 3 years. Wave the stars and stripes he has so casually defamed. Admit his mistakes and talk about withdrawing troops.
Nah, I don't think so. He'll probably spew the same old bull. "War on terror" when he is actually a terrorist himself. His promoting Israel's continued aggression put him in the same company as Osama Bin Laden. Fight them there so we don't here. Well maybe if we withdrew before making more enemies and had more money for keeping our borders safe we won't.
Or how about we dishonor the dead by leaving before the job is done. Bush dishonored the dead and live soldiers from the very beginning with his lies about WMD.
The job is never going to get done with the "stay the course" philosophy. He won't leave, but can't put enough troops on the ground to win. Staying the course is only going to get us the same result as it is now. More dead and maimed Iraqi civilians and soldiers, more dead and maimed US soldiers, more stirring up the secular violence, more and more money spent.
When is this going to end? We are massively bleeding now. Waiting until Bush leaves office is way toooooooo long. - Reply to this comment
