The actual text is 27 year old male civilian, presumed Iraqi national. It does not say what country it was in. I assume the is the Salt pit in Afghanistan. The news references one who "froze to death" here.
I believe that Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Powell, Tenet, Ashcroft, Gonzales, and others met in secret and authorised torture and even watched the tapes! Also everyone who followed the order- engaged in torture. A war crime of commission in addition to omission (see below).
Susan Crawford is the Bush appointee in charge of detainee trials and she made her ruling while Bush was still in Power which means he was aware and did nothing to stop it or prevent further maltreatment-even in his last days in office.
This is a war crime of omission (failure to stop , investigate or prevent further crimes) and he is obiously and undoubtedly guilty.
PS we executed Tojo on these exact charges of failure to prevent maltreatment of POWS after WWII. They did not have to prove he knew about it. Only that he was in command of the armed forces. Both War crime prosecution and defense conspired to not mention the emperor''s involment in the war.
I''m not comparing this to a death march- But Torture is still a war crime. Many people have died during interrogations.
No one can argue these are not torture, the techniques have ended life and are therefore torture under any definition.

27 year old male civilian, Iraqi, died in US custody approximately 72 hours after being apprehended. During his confinement, he was hooded, sleep deprived, and subjected to hot and cold environmental conditions, including the use of cold water on his body and hood. No internal evidence of trauma. No significant evidence of natural disease. There is evidence of multiple injuries, including "blackeyes", abrasions and contusions of the face, torso and extremities, side of the neck and subgaleal hemorrage of the scalp. The decedent was also subjected to cold and wet conditions and hypothermia may have contributed to his death. DOD 003323 refers to this case with the notation "Q[uestioned] by NSWT [Navy Seals], struggled/interrogated/died sleeping." autopsy report of this individual is at DOD 003260 -003261. Death certificate is at DOD 003300.

Case 03-571 - blunt force trauma and choking, dured during interrogation, autopsy done.
Case 04-014, blunt force trauma and choking, gagged in standing restraint, autopsy done.
Thanks for clearing that up for us but you left out DARPA or ARPA as it was known then. Do you have the history of responding to a retarded post with an even more retarded one? No one believes Al Gore invented anything. It was a joke. But thanks.

Al Gore did not invent the Internet. He was involved in its creation as we know it because he wrote a bill to fund its development.
Computers passing information to computers was invented in 1967 by personnel in the Pentagon. At that time, all the U.S. intelligence was on a computer at the Pentagon, and the possibility that it might all be wiped out in the event of an attack was real (this was during the cold war). It was decided to also establish the information at Cape Kennedy (Canaveral) in Florida and connect the information by phone lines. Then it was worried that maybe the entire east coast would be taken out, so the information should also be located at an out-of-the-way obscure location. They chose the University of Utah. Hence the baby Internet was created as a three-way link between the Pentagon, Florida, and Utah.
Balderdash! More Neocon propaganda.

There was no torture. Crawford is the only one with real information who is saying anything close to that. So, you have to determine those facts first. Agressive interrogation, yes. Torture, no. No one was maimed.
Im not proud of what was done. But it may have been necessary and you are rushing to judgement when you compare it to the death marches our fathers endured.

Where were you? Al Gore had barely had the internet invented by then. I was watching it on TV and living my life while you were dialing up on AOL! It still does not explain the lack of Bush impeachment; A spineless Pelosi and control of congress does
