- And that was not the end of it. In July 2000--three months before the deadly attack on the destroyer Cole in Yemen--I brought the White House another plausible offer to deal with Bin Laden, by then known to be involved in the embassy bombings. A senior counter-terrorism official from one of the United States'''''''''''''''' closest Arab allies--an ally whose name I am not free to divulge--approached me with the proposal after telling me he was fed up with the antics and arrogance of U.S. counter-terrorism officials.

Panel''s focus falls on Aug. 6 Bush brief
By Mimi Hall and John Diamond, USA TODAY
Members of the commission investigating the Sept. 11 attacks grilled national security adviser Condoleezza Rice about the Aug. 6 PDB, which referred to al-Qaeda''s plans to attack the United States.
"Isn''t it a fact, Dr. Rice, that the Aug. 6th PDB warned against possible attacks in this country?" commissioner Richard Ben-Veniste, a onetime Watergate prosecutor, said after Rice testified that the president had not been given specific warnings about such plots. "And I ask you whether you recall the title of that PDB?"
Rice replied, "I believe the title was ''Bin Laden Determined to Attack Inside the United States.'' "
It was a defining moment in the hearing, and it cut to the core of what Rice was there to answer: what the president and his team knew in the weeks and months before Sept. 11, 2001, and whether they did enough to respond to the growing threat from al-Qaeda. - Reply to this comment
- Bin Laden will never quit Waziristan and his tar heroin business. He said, "Kill all the Taliban. The only important thing is the survival of Al Qada". His clique uses technical isomizers to make the tar heroin. The substance is a concentrate of poppy mixed with other drugs to appease the habits of narcotics Addicts. Osama made it clear. The poppy farms will bring in billions of dollars to fund terror groups.

- What''s with the spamming? Look - I''m ALL for bashing liberals... I enjoy it. But I''m opposed to engaging in liberal type hypocrisy. So saying how this attempt on Binny ''cemented'' ties with the Taliban is pretty much nonsense - and goes along with the ''oh gee, now you''ve weally mad dem mad'' type of appeasement policy that doesn''t stop radical muslims. If Clinton is to be criticized for ANYthing, it''s for NOT taking an even tougher stance against these guys who had already attacked us several times - and for slashing intelligence/military budgets . But let''s not suggest in hindsight that trying to take him OUT was some kind of mistake... we just should have tried harder - but I recognize it''s all very clear in retrospect.

- So what did bin Laden and his network do to America, that would have gave Clinton reason to take him into custody?

What''s brainwashed about it?
I asked a question, and he REFUSES to answer it.
Even the 9/11 commission report stated that bin Laden''s first declaration against the US, came in 1998.
So - AGAIN - what did bin Laden and his network do to America, that would have gave Clinton reason to take him into custody?
Why won''t anyone that supports the right''s position answer this question, if it''s "so obvious"? - Reply to this comment

- The untold CRIME:
What did former national security advisor to Clinton, Sandy Berger, actually STEAL FROM THE NATIONAL ARCHIVES during the 9/11 commission hearings. We will never know, but it must have been very damaging to Billdo for his former lackey to violate national security and steal.
Berger was convicted, lost his national security clearance and law license.
