So now, life-long Americans are punished if they decide to change their religion???

======================================

Did you only choose to believe one side of the article?

While declining comment on the lawsuit, Davis said "religious and political affiliation does not impact whether an individual is placed" on a list.

So, IF this guy were catholic and changed to Methodist---his name would not be on the terror watch list
BUT because he converted to Muslim---he now becomes the enemy ----------------------------------------

It is so easy for so many of you to decide that every Muslim is a psycho. Hey, i saw a white guy on the news yesterday. He killed four people. I guess every single white guy on the planet should be suspected of being a murderer, ----------------------------------------

As the wheels of justice try to turn, this guy will lose his job and the lawsuit will be put on hold while they hope he forgets about it.

If it were me, I''d be screaming from every rooftop and getting the media involved personally until what we call our government did the correct thing and vetted this guy and remove his name from these so-called anti-terror lists.

Erich Scherfen sure sounds like a terrorist to me! B*llsh*t.

coming? it''s already here.

spying on americans ... watch lists w/ americans on it w/ no explanation as to how/why ... suspension of presumption of innocence ... suspension of jurisprudence for those classified as enemy combatants ... torture policies masked as ''enhanced techniques'' first done in secret, then justified w/ doj summaries ... law enforcement w/ hand held torture devices (tasers) used in minor infractions ... no knock warrants ... murdering labrador retrievers under the claim that they''re threatening ... etc, etc, etc.

Our government forgets, when you point your finger at someone--there are 3 pointing back at yourself.

No bigger terrorists than the Bush tribe!!

ibsteve2u, the problem is not with the religions, but with the people....the message that was revealed by God throughout the ages never changed. It is man who tries to use the words of God and manipulates them for his or her own selfish gain. After all, God gave us all free will...how we choose to use this "gift" is entirely up to each individual human being. People can manipulate any text to try to fit it into their agenda. For example, the crusades, the forced massive extermination of the native americans and hitler''s tyranny...all used christian texts to try to justify what they were doing. Does that mean Jesus (Pbuh) preached this intolerance? Of course not...so, you see my friend it is not the idealogy, but the people that try to manipulate it that are the problem here.

Sounds fair to me--as long as the Bush worshippers are held to the same esteem as that of being warmonger anti-Americans.

I guess every single white guy on the planet should be suspected of being a murderer, capable of snapping at any moment.
Every single one.
And i should pull my weapon at any time i observe a white male...existing.
Isn''t that the next logical step to the cowardly drivel that so many of you folks seem to believe?

Do you know what the real end effect will be, crescentgirl?

As the youths of today observe the intolerance practiced by factions of the "sons of Abraham", they will - justifiably - conclude that any ideology that can be used to justify cruelty is unfit for anybody who would call themselves "human".

And all three religions will lose adherents...

"Do we really need to look the other way, and NOT be suspicious of someone who suddenly decided to change to a radical religion that hates anyone who doesn''''t believe as they do??? I think not.. I''''m proud we have the forsight to put this guy and others like him on the list.. He should be banned from flying..Screw his rights. What about my rights.. I know I''''m not getting on the plane with this guy.. "

It is people who post comments such as these that spread the hate. I don''t know if you have ever even opened a book to really learn what Islam teaches...if you did, you might learn that it is actually a religion of peace, diversity and tolerance. A religion that tells you to pray to your creator five times a day, give alms to the poor, fast during Ramadan to feel the pain of the poor that cannot feed themselves, to respect your mother (and your father)..to take care of them in their old age, to shelter orphans and to make peace with adversaries...you would learn all this and much more about what Islam teaches. Unfortunately, you are too busy hoarding your hate to really learn anything.

Sigh...I would jump on that idea, if only we had a truly impartial - and I mean no right OR left bias - SCOTUS.

10 years ago, a muslim pilot took an Air India 747 and crash dived it in the Atlantic ocean sceaming Alah is great...killing all on board. ( it was on the cockpit recorder for those of you un-belivers).. Do we really need to look the other way, and NOT be suspicious of someone who suddenly decided to change to a radical religion that hates anyone who doesn''''t believe as they do??? I think not.. tootoo...No one will force you to get on a plane he flys. Nowhere in the article does it indicate that he "suddenly decided" convert. Nothing in the article indicates that he may go off the deep end like the Air India pilot (it should be noted that no one ever indicated that his was a political act). As a result, there really are no legal grounds publicly available to prevent him from flying or to justify placing his name on a watch list. I only want the governmemt to present evidence to substantiate it''s position.

You know what the fundamental difference between the "Muslim haters" that post here and the Islamic fundamentalist terrorists is?

Beyond the difference in how they spread their message, the only real difference that I can see is their religions.

Both groups seem to exist soley to spread hate and intolerance.

Quite the ambition, for people who wish to be known as civilized, eh?

Not all of them - just all of them who were ever involved - even peripherally - with PNAC.

The world would be a better - and far safer - place...

Twin Tower bombing happened in 1993
Posted by gangesdak at 12:59 PM : Aug 20, 2008

True gangesdak...and at that time the discussion centered around "Arab" terrorists...as a nation not much attention was paid to "Islam" until after 9/11. American Muslims in the US were under no more scrutiny in 1994 than any other group. It wasn''t until 2001 that they became targeted.
