Prosecutors Sought 30 Years For Salim Hamdan, Who Is Now Eligible For Release In 5 Months
- This case is a sorry as it gets. At least the next case involves someone principal to Al Qaeda, not a servant.

That "servant" is still Al Qaeda and would cut your''s and your families throats if he got a chance. - Reply to this comment
- Bin Laden had another name when we were supporting the Taliban in their fight against the Soviets: Tim Osman. He was on the regular payroll of the CIA, but he didn''t do it for the money, as he was already rich. He did it for the weapons, and because he truly cared about the Afghani people as we did.

- Yeah, the sentence was a slap. But the President can hold an enemy combatant indefinitely....even after his trial/sentence are over.

- The US military, far more than the civilian population of the US, knows exactly what a criminal farce the "War on Terror" really is. They see the "cause and effect" of Bush''s misguided policies firsthand in places all around the globe every day.
It''s good to see them stand up to Bush''s foolish, un-Constitutional nonsense, and deliver this well-deserved "slap in the face" to the Bush administration and it''s neocon schemers. - Reply to this comment
- I wonder if that counts time already served at Club Gitmo? Next, we should go after bin Laden''s hairdresser and manicurist.

- : Aren''t we lucky to have a government so vigilant to save us from an errant chauffeur. Now, due to wheels of justice, we can sleep at night with the satisfaction that this menace to the free world is no longer a threat. It was a close call for a while as the judges considered whether it was the right thing to do to use evidence obtained under duress. But in their wisdom, they said: to helll with the Constitution, we are above all that nonsense.

- Border Patrol Officers Ramos and Compean got twice as much time in Prison as this terrorist accomplice for shooting an armed drug dealer. The military should get Johnny "NIFONG" Sutton to prosecute these terrorists,....he''ll put them away for life or worse if he''s still as uhm,.....effective as he was against to of OUR guys. Think what he could do down in Guantanamo Bay.

- All Americans can now rest easy; one more bad driver has been taken off the streets. The Justice Dept. can rest on its laurels having convicted a man based on coerced evidence. *** the Constitution; the main thing is that the rule of law has prevailed and, even though the conviction is flawed and would probably be overturned on appeal, those valiant federal prosecutors can pat themselves on their backs and say: "another job well done." Sleep well.

- If this driver was released today, he knows that going back to his homeland invites disgrace and death threats against him. Not any of his homeland compartiots would trust him. Those who might may ask him to remain in the USA and spy, but the USA is also making the same offers to him. Being regarded as a "2 of Clubs" makes him appear like a pawn, but his color is yet to be realized. He might get a job driving Bagdad Bob around Iraq helping him make broadcast announcements over a loudspeaker.

- Just remember, that giving a terrorist a ride is a serious offense. If a terrorist asks you for a ride, please ignore them & find the nearest U.S. army personal! xD

- I guess the bus driver who took Bundy to Florida is now worried.

Yah, he might be required to FILL OUT A FORM and then WAIT IN LINE to turn it in.
His lawyer would object that it''s cruel and unusual punishment, so the sentence would be reduced to filling out HALF THE FORM, then he has to wait in line until he''s HALFWAY TO THE FRONT of the line. Then he can go home. - Reply to this comment
- Lets say we do a citizen arrest on Cheney and Bush on try them for high-treason. Look at the definition and you''''ll see that Bush should get at least life in prison for his war crimes

Think again. After this sentence, Bush would get community service, and Cheney would be required to take an online defensive driving class.
But they''d be tough on Cheney - it would have to be a STAND-UP COMEDY defensive driving class. - Reply to this comment

- How Dare You Go After Small Fries!!! ...in this so-called "War on Terror".
Then you had the audacity to let the "big fish" escape on a private jet after 9/11 without even questioning them!
Now how incompetent is that?
I call on John McCain to conduct an immediate investigation into the 40 year historical and documented nature of the "associations" between the Bush Crime Family and the Bin Ladens!
And stop this pettiness with Obama''s former pastor and go find the real KILLERS who did this to us!!! - Reply to this comment
- Then I lost my job.
