Are YOU really that uninformed? I''m serious with 24 hour a day news, seven days a week, this pathetic Fascist can''t even state the Democrat Party Position on Iraq and Afganistan. Good grief Sparky what grade DID you get too? FOURTH?!?! ROFLMAO Sieg Heil Bush. You know your aren''t the sharpest knife in the drawer. In your case trying to appear SUPERIOR is going to make you look very stupid a LOT!! - Reply to this comment
- What possible benefit is it for us now to be in AFG? We went in to punish OBL for 9/11 and now he is safely in Northern Pakistan where we will not go after him.
We messed up big time in 2001 when we let the Taliban off the ropes and cried uncle before the fight was over. Now, we cannot do anything about it. Remember, AFG has tossed out a lot invaders before us. - Reply to this comment
- People this is NOT going to be easy... The Taliban and Bin Laden have used Iraq to get knowledge and traits they can use against us. Any intelligent military mind would. THAT is why they teach you to NEVER leave the enemy alive on the field. Once you are in pursuit you''d better keep after him.... How many DEAD Generals didn''t learn that??

- There are no benefits for Americans in Afghanistan. Your tax dollars and cumulative borrowed debt to finance these operations only benefit the corporations who purchased the oil& gas rights in the Caspian Sea Basin, nothing more nothing less.
July 15, 2008 Bush morning news conf: Everything''s going well so far in the Caspian Basin "....
And the extermination continues:...........
February 12, 1998 John J. Maresca vp of UNOCAL oil appeared before a House sub committee. The purpose of the meeting was to gain support for exploitation of oil & natural gas resources, for the rights purchased by BIG OIL in the Caspian Sea area.
In his testimony he stated, "The key question is how the energy resources of Central Asia can be made available to nearby Asian markets ".
The exploitation option stated : "One obvious route south would cross Iran, but this is foreclosed by American companies because of U.S. sanctions (with Iran ) . The only other possible route is across Afghanistan, which of course has it''s own unique challenges. " He continued saying, " the pipeline we have proposed across Afghanistan could not begin until a recognized government is in place that has the confidence of governments, lenders (world monitary fund & world bank ) ,and our company "......"
UNOCAL and other American companies are prepared to undertake the job ". - Reply to this comment
- Yesterday''s Froomkin column and a Frank Rich column that appeared in Sunday''s NY Times covers a new book by Jane Mayer of *The New Yorker* called *The Dark Side* which details some of the White House chicanery practiced by Cheney, Rummy and Addington in devising legalisms for torture and expanding the power of the executive branch.
Included is the assertion, based on interviews with WH insiders, that 50 or 60 individuals within the CIA knew that two Al Qaeda suspects, soon to be hijackers, were within the US, and that the event of Sept. 11 were "all preventable". It goes on to recount how there was no sense of urgency at the top, including an account of how Atty. General Ascroft rebuffed warnings.
This squares with the accounts by others, including from CIA director George Tenet and terror expert Richard Clarke who tried to get audiences with the president but were rebuffed by Condi Rice. She further told an outright lie, when she averred on national television sometime after 9/11 that "no one could have envisioned" terrorists using jet airliners as missiles. In fact, it was well established that some within government agencies had envisioned exactly that, but were ignored.
The fact is tht 9/11 was preventable, and it was the fault of the top leadership, not the guys in the field, that this happened. Those guys did their jobs well, it was management that hosed it up. - Reply to this comment
- Speaking of Presidential hopefuls, its a terribly sad thing to see that both parties are supporting a terrible example of leadership for the next president. Neither of the two have shown they have any grasp of the economic, energy, or terrorist situations in the world.
Neither of them have any wisdom, ideals or a real vision (ha ha Change!) to return this country to economic prosperity and the most educated nation in the world. We were there once. - Reply to this comment

- It''s interesting that 72% of the people think that McCain knows anything about international affairs. Where did he learn these things, in a tiger cage in Vietnam?
He has shown a remarkable degree of ignorance and befuddlement, not only about the economy but about international affairs as well. He doesn''t know the difference between a Shi''ite or a Sunni, something we might actually need to know when we confuse the Sunni al-Qa''eda and Taliban with Shi''ite Islamic fundamentalists.
But he also knows very little about Europe, and a trip to Colombia does not make him an expert on Latin American affairs. I wonder if he knows what FARC is even fighting for?
John McCain is dangerously befuddled and gullible about the world around him, both domestically and farther from home.
He isn''t Bush. He''s WORSE than Bush. - Reply to this comment

- The wars in Afg. and Iraq are not meant to be won, or they probably would have by now (without much use of ground infantry, countries these days take over politically more successfully than militarily). These wars are just meant to be fought. It is far more lucrative to treat a problem than to cure it. Its sad that we still have this sort of mentality and ignorance dominating the "civilized" world. Evolution people, lets go forward rather than backward.

What kinda la la land do you live in, anyway?
The Chinese are more capitalist than we are... "rotten commie" is just an worn out old cold war conservative label.
What whipped the military in Viet Nam was incompetent politicians right here at home horribly abusing and mis-using the military, just like they are doing now in Irag. Those "liberals" back home screaming in the streets were trying to get those incompetent politicians to stop it.
Sound to me like you have swallowed an awful lot of chickenhawk propaganda.... - Reply to this comment

- 8 in 10 Americans can now easily explain to another the failures of the last 8 years or Neo-con/Republican DOMINATED US foreign policy.
We LINCHED the leader of IRAQ which HAD schools for its citizens, a government in place, power and water for the people and a stable economy, and for what? OIL; which has become more expensive in the last 7 years? How do the Republicans treat our military? How much of it are the Republicans going to allow slip into the hands of the private sector where accountability and allegiance to OUR country go out the window?
Please, someone tell me what it means today to be a Republican. Pro hate or pro-anger? YOU CAN NOT LEAD A COUNTRY IF YOU DO NOT KNOW HOW TO PICK YOUR BATTLES!! Republican, neo-con, conservative, or whatever you want to call them is too old and angry to understand our country and the world as it is today.
Hillary, Obama, or both, I don%u2019t care, the Democrats get my vote. - Reply to this comment

- Any one who compare us in Afganishtan with the Soviet do not know a thing about History . The Soviet in AFgan. is like us in Iraq or Vietnam , fighting a guerilla war against an enemy embedded in an backed by the population , without an clear UN mandate and broad political support from Allies around the world ( notice I did not say Military support) and was treated like an occupying force , IN AFGANISHTAN , all those things do not apply , The Taliban are separated from the population , things are quiet in the capital and major cities where car bombs do not go off daily like in Vietnam or in Iraq , so , it is a totally different animal , one much easier to deal with , say another Bush ''s Surge with our General having the authority to do what is right in their expertise like in Iraq now( and not having amateurs telling them what to do ) it would have been a PIECE OF CAKE! As long as we do not got scare the S out of ourselves and cut-and-run before the enemy actually get to us , we are okay . As for China and Russia , they do not back or support the Taliban against us like we did agaisnt the Soviet . They dare not ! and there is no interest for them to do that , and they are not stupid . Also , China having their own muslim problem would not want to bring Al-Qaida and Taliban in any way . So , as long as the next US president is Mc Cain ,we are more than OKAY!

No worry , China , they are on our pay-roll( via Walmart and the likes) ...If our politicians do not do what Gore did (like taking bribes from them) we are okay . LOok at how strong Japan was , there were times that we actually think they invade us economically , but look at what happen , It is hard time right now , but it will pass . If we drill our own oil , become energy sufficient or at least partly sufficient with Nuclear , our own oil and altenative fuels , the price for gas would go down , things will fall in to places ..That is IF the dump Dems allow us to drill for oil to counter speculators before China drill 50 miles from the same shores and get all the oil first , then we are okay !. Like I said , we are our worst enemy , we dig this hole for ourselves . Cars that run on WAter are still centuries away and yet , the Dems want us to stop using oil ..Just ask if any of them using bike or any of their children are using bikes and you will know ..the Oil company is not our enemy like they want us to believe , they are companies wanting to make money like any other businesses ( and our gas prices have been very competitive world wide). So not to worry about China , commies can not do JACK to us if we do not do it to ourselves. - Reply to this comment
