Additional US troops (Marines) were moved into Afghanistan a few months ago and they have been escalating the pressure on the Taliban at the same time as the perennial Spring Taliban offensive.

At the beginning of the Iraq surge, deaths were up.

Deaths in Iraq are now way down.

Maybe, Afghanistan will follow that curve.

The Taliban is seeing a resurgence in Afghanistan due to one person - GW Bush.

Instead of ensuring the Taliban was finished off, GW Bush decided to divert troops, weapons and money from Afghanistan so that he could invade Iraq.

Impressing his daddy, taking the oil and settling old scores was more important to him.

But then, what do we expect when we have an idiot for a President?
