How does RAND affect the War on Terror? Who are we paying to think about the situation in the Middle East?

At the time of the September 11 attacks, it was former Defense Secretary Frank Carlucci. He was on the RAND Board of Trustees and was also the co-chair of the RAND Center for Middle East Public Policy Advisory Board.

But wasn''t he also the chairman of The Carlyle Group, a defense contractor with ties to the Saudi Royal Family and the Bin Ladens?
That''s right. At the time of the 9/11 attacks he was the head of a $13 billion dollar private firm that invests people''s pension funds in companies that make money when our nation is at war. The Carlyle Group stands to make many billions of dollars from the War on Terror.[3]

So, someone we''re paying to tell us what to do in the Middle East is a person who stands to get rich from increased military spending?
That''s right. But Frank Carlucci isn''t the only one making decisions about the war who will be making a fortune from Carlyle Group money.

Again - NON-answers. I know republicans can be greedy SOBs. But I am talking about siding with enemies... FOREIGN enemies in time of conflict or war. I am not talking about finacial scandals and the like. That belongs in another forum. I''m talking about how liberals have all forgotten the hideous slaughter of 3000 americans on 9/11 but wont live down our trecherous water boarding techniques. How they insisted the Rosenburgs were not spies only to be proven wrong. How they said defeating Communism was impossible and to just live with it... then along came Reagan... Why are you liberals always SO anti American?

You''re just a wee bit confused

Who killed FBI man John O''Neill?
When he was killed on 9/11, John O''Neill was the head of World Trade Center security. Two weeks before that, he quit his job at the FBI because Big Oil interests were interfering with his investigation of Islamic Terrorism.

What were you asking?

*** Cheney met six times with Enron executives while writing up this nation''s energy policy which benefited Enron 17 ways, and then refused to tell Congress anything about those meetings. Cheney also met with Ken Lay during the California energy crisis.
The day after the meeting, Cheney said the Bush administration would not support price caps on energy in California, a move that cost Californians and made Enron billions.

Bakeslice87 - don''t blame bobnjersey for having FDS.

FDS - Fox Derangement Syndrome.

The name for those far left posters that can''t stand the fact that Fox News has both a Republican point of view, as well as the usual Democratic point of view, (as every other news media has only the latter.)

But, be kind folks - those people with FDS can''t help themselves... It''s hard to take on reality when it doesn''t fit your agenda.

First there is denial, then claims of ''unfair'', then a great deal of gnashing of teeth, followed by finger pointing, and at some point the slow realization that it IS fair and more balanced dawns on them.

At this point the FDS victim has moved from far left to just liberal. Not all make it. Some are too firmly entrenched in their denial of the facts.

Have pity. They expect it. It is an entitlement. It''s a Democrat ''thing''.

The far left wants us out of Iraq, yet when the Afgani Army takes on the Taliban, they cry this is where our boys should be.

The far left media cries about how many died in Iraq and how it isn''t our fight, yet they can''t tell you how many have died in Afghanistan.

Sounds like political waa waa waa waa to me.

The far left has only one agenda - get obama in office. They don''t care WHAT it takes, because they don''t REALLY care about America, they are just still smarting because the Supreme Court made the correct decision on telling Gore when to get off.

Who represents the far left ?

Take a good look at the posters on this site and what they say. They lie. They spin. They would sell out their mothers to get obama in office.

They are Professors that were former Weathermen, bombing the Pentagon, they are Professors that think it was the 3000''s fault for dying in the twin towers.

They are sick.

Another cowardly comment from the guy that throws insults at others all day from his computer, never once can you claim to have stood up like a man and taken responsibility for spreading your hatred towards others. It''s easy to being an online Republican, you kooks are all over the Internet.
