opedanderson,

Re: "As a member of the Norwegian Resistance during WWII, my uncle was waterboarded by German and Norwegian Nazis as part of his interrogation. Anyone who thinks that this treatment is not torture should have had the chance of spending a few hours with this man. Though he was kind and considerate to us at all times the effects of his treatments at the hands of these animals was abundantly clear for even a child to see. He had alopecia (full body), he never swam, he would only shower with the door open and with very little water pressure, he woke up at night shaking and sweating, he was nervous at the sight of open water. To the Nazis, he was a terrorist. They needed to know things from him, so I guess it was justified in the eyes of some of you. Just remember when you advocate such techniques that REAL harm is done. It''s no joke."

Thanks for sharing this.

You are right. It is no joke.

Do you REALLY REALLY think the CIA is a person, a bully?
or
is it a collection of US citizens and associates with a heck of a hard job in a country that has a minority that hates their guts since they operate in a world outside of the perfect one imagined." Posted by ilikecats1

Or a Mafia like group of organized international criminals, operating without proper oversight, committing illegal acts against sovereign states, in order to facilitate exploitation of the state''s resources, to those states'' detriment, for their own profit, (as in Iran-Contra, and recently running drugs from Columbia to the US) and for the profit of multinational corporations (Bechtel, Halliburton, Blackwater, Mobil-Exxon, etc).

lol, thanks for the treatise.

But when you look at this world thru a mother''s eyes...you learn to see the bigger picture (sorry I know this sounds pompass) than through the predator ego.

What I see right now is a bunch of MEN acting like a bunch of children trying to see who can out bully each other. Not to even include stealing from each other.

Stand back out of yourself, and bring to look at the whole thing from a very far distance.

In the end...when we''ve blown ourselves off the earth...what''s all this bull ***** going to matter?

"Everything I know is it is a legal technique used in a specific set of circumstances," McConnell said." Posted by ilikecats1

If we accept that statement as truth, then McConnell apparently doesn''t know that it has been regarded as torture ever since the Spanish Inquisition, and that US soldiers have been convicted and punished by courts martial, as recently as the Vietnam conflict.
Since he claims not to know this, then he is unqualified to make statements on the issue.

You know, I think the purpose of this article is just the CIA bragging. They are just releasing this information to let it be known that they have and will torture and they will get away with it.

Have you ever seen the bully on the playground that stands there and looks at the weenie kid and says, I am going to rip you limb from limb, I am going to bash your head in with rocks? This is what this smacks of to me.
