Aid Worker And Driver Taken At Gunpoint In Kandahar

Re: "If the US sees Afghanistan as an enemy worthy of military invasion, why would an American aid worker be there in the first place? is not "aiding the enemy" treason? If they are not an enemy, why are we over there killing them?"

- This woman was not committing treason. She was on a humanitarian aid project. Her organization is somehow affiliated with the Baptist church which sends out missionaries all over the world. The article doesn''t say she herself was a missionary but I''m guessing she made a committment to help poor people and spread the gospel as she saw her Christian duty.

- If I might bring the discussion bact to the story for a moment, I would submit these questions for discussion;
If the US sees Afghanistan as an enemy worthy of military invasion, why would an American aid worker be there in the first place? is not "aiding the enemy" treason? If they are not an enemy, why are we over there killing them?

- ===And, while the USMC is a HONORABLE institution, anyone that HAS to point to that fact in order to be considered honorable, is not!===
Sorry, but when veterans who happen to be libs like myself are called traitors and cowards because they don''t like my politics, I will gladly point to my service and tell that person to, as I just told you earlier, to go f*ck themselves.
===You have chosen to draw your HONOR from an institution, rather than displaying it yourself. There is no HONOR in associating the USMC with the sort of sh|t you spew out to the world, Marine!===
Yeah, well I tried taking the high road, making points, not insults, when I first got to these boards. But then a$$holes like you question my patriotism and call me names and I quickly found I had to lower myself to the likes of you to survive around here. In the end, around here, it''s not about honor, but about not taking s h i t from anyone. - Reply to this comment
- ===I won''''t waste any more time listening to you deny it, other than to tell you that you that you are barely one step up from the bad apple Marine in Mexico.===
Me, Honorable discharge, family man, law-abiding citizen and you compare me to a murderer of a pregnant woman because, what? You don''t like my political views? From one USMC (ret) to one USA (ret), go f*ck yourself.
===And, your friend, usmcvn, seems to think the ''''Corps'''' is the only place to have served to be patriotic.===
Did I ever say that? If I bring up my service in an argument, it''s for the chickenhawks who question my patriotism and courage. - Reply to this comment
- ===Rafterman1 - I don''''t care that you CLAIM (from your demented point of view) that the Republican party has alike points of view.===
Feel free to refute any of my comparisons.
===We know you like to lie. Nothing you say has any value on this site.===
Why? Because it doesn''t agree with your politics? Therefore, it''s all lies? And evidence of these "lies"? How very arrogant of you.
===As proof - you look at your little bullets - and you''''ll see some of them apply to things Hillary done over the last few days.===
No argument there about Hillary. - Reply to this comment

- j-whitman, I don''t think Hitler believed in any religion other than to use it as a tool. Another interesting Hitler quote (as told by Albert Speer) is:
"You see, it''s been our misfortune to have the wrong religion. Why didn''t we have the religion of the Japanese, who regard sacrifice for the Fatherland as the highest good? The Mohammedan religion too would have been much more compatible to us than Christianity. Why did it have to be Christianity with its meekness and flabbiness?"
So it seems to me that links to Hitler and Christianity are somewhat weak. Christianity was Hitler''s religion and he used it for his purposes only because that happened to be the religion he was born into and the religion Germany adhered to. If he was born into Islam or Hinduism, he may not have acted any differently than he did as a "christian". For instance, Manson is a maniac too, regardless of his religion. It''s almost an immaterial point. - Reply to this comment

witless - you strike me as the kind of person that would flip the chess board over when it became apparent you were going to lose, rather than resign.
You''ve been examined, and found to be wanting. - Reply to this comment

If I were "pissed off", I''d be name calling and cussing without basis of fact to back it up Marine.
witless - (and this name is given "ips resps loquitor" which roughly translates to "the thing speaks for itself" in law) I have mentioned time and again that I was a volunteer in the US Army during the Vietnam Era, that didn''t server in Vietnam.
And I believe USMCVN has been dishonorable enough to say something about marching around in circles when I mentioned ROTC. Fact is, you''ll never know what it is about USMCVN, and I don''t care to explain it to someone like you. Suffice it to say, I was willing to put my life in jeopardy, during a time that not many were.
If that''s not honorable to you or witless, well, it is questionable that you truly represent what you think you do.
Cogitate on your motives for a while, gents. You want a child like pissing match, or do you want to make a difference in this world. - Reply to this comment

- whitman, I had 3 and a half years of active duty as an officer...
USMCVN, yeah I know about the Junior ROTC system - I was in both, and yes I was an officer in both. As well as an officer in the US Army.
Your disrespect for other services is duly noted. I could not care less about your personal problem. See the Chaplin.
"speakinup,,,, You should really think about stopping your attacks on America''s veterans --- You are showing the world the meaning of the "Ugly American"
Posted by j-whitman
I find this really hypocritical, witless. I''m the ''ugly american'' for being critical of a Marine defaming the USMC, and pointing out your sick attitude, but you are just ''joking'' when you say Republican''s are all watching cartoons instead of crossing your path on this web site.
Perhaps if you had something to say that was of a DEBATE nature, and for pure insult purposes, folks would engage you.
Opinions are like azz-holes, everyone''s got one. Facts are what should drive our opinions not the other way around. - Reply to this comment

- Rafterman1 - if someone said the USMC watches ''power-rangers'' - would that make you understand ?
usmcvn - you are a disgrace to the Corps. You need to change your pen-name if you want to be ******. The Corps doesn''t need you dragging their good name thru the mud with your feeble attempts to irritate good folks.
All you are doing is making an Honorable institution look bad by association. If I were a Marine, I''d be looking to tell you that you have forgotten the meaning of Semper Fi.
BTW, you spell the word "speech". No need to make USMCVNs stupid too.
witless - think of the phrase, "wolf in sheep''s clothing" - does that straighten yor little brain f@rt out for you ?
Was or Wasn''t Hitler a wolf in sheeps clothing ? Did you or DIDN''T yo believe him simply because he said it. DOES OR DOESN''T THAT MAKE YOU A FOOL!!!! - Reply to this comment
- speakinup,,,, The reason I ask is the ROTC Basic Course (the first 2 years of college) does not obligate someon to serve unless they have also recieved a scolarship.
