"We have watched the rise of homegrown terrorism," Chertoff said.

No doubt Chertoff was in on the original planning of 9/11 with Cheney... NeoCons all!

Take joy in the fact that there exists only a little over one (1) year left of this ugly traitor and his anti American Bush/Cheney co-conspirators.

"We have watched the rise of homegrown terrorism," Chertoff said.

Possibly the result of the invasion/occupation of Iraq as the NIE stated?

The real terror in America is the poverty, fear, lack of constitutional enforcement and a failing economy. Does Homeland Security really think we believe they are going to stop a terrorist attack???? Just another way to spend more money taken from the mouths of children and the elderly and disabled to line the pockets of men and women like Chertoff. My ex husband owns a company which produces "security items" for our Homeland Security - The contract was so lucrative, he gave up another business, which was also very lucrative, just so he could devote himself full time to this "Homeland" contract. His profits would or at least should embarass anyone who has to walk down an American Street tomorrow and face a child whose father or mother lost their jobs to our trade agreements. Unfortunately, it won''t. It''s time to stand up America.

Yup - in OTHER news:

The Bush administration intends to slash counterterrorism funding for police, firefighters and rescue departments across the country by more than half next year, according to budget documents obtained by The Associated Press...

Hmmm....

Time to put on your B.S. detectors people Chertoff will dish out any fear based propaganda he can to push his National I.D. card. Sorry sir we don''t want the "North American Union." Since I was a child I always wondered what the devil looked like. Now I have a face to go with the name.

I believe this Homeland Security propaganda as much as I believed the Navy Iran Fastboat faux news release, or the FEMA faux news conference on the California fires!

Our government now routinely releases LIES as a matter of course. What''s sad, is if they yell ''the sky is falling'' one more time, no one will listen, and it may kill millions of citizens...

Why are we so scared of terror when we are responsible for most of it? Oh that explains it, it takes one to know one.

I guess the question should be how can neocon fascist imperialists using torture and war as tools of terror preach against it?

Very simple answer. They shameless SOB''s that will stop at nothing to maintain their death-grip on power. Nothing at all. Lies are a no-brainer with that bunch.

This also explains why only 3% of incoming cargo containers are randomly scanned at major seaports.

"But when I lift my eyes and I look around the world, and I look at what happens in Britain, in Germany, in Spain, in Bali, in Pakistan, I don''t see terrorism going away; I see an al Qaeda that''s evolving," he said.

Then we should adapt to that evolution and stop parroting the fear. That''s just my $.02 anyway.

sadly, we have an opportunity to change course, but it seems people would rather give up all their rights and liberties for ''''top tier'''' globalist and elitist candidates from both parties that continue to spread the fear mongering. these b@st@rds cant help themselves but to continue to use terms like ''''global islamo fundamentalist terrorism'''' etc... if this continues for an entire generation, and it is well on its way... our liberties are never coming back.

congressman paul may appear kooky to many, but he understands the real threat to america.

Posted by merlgrey at 05:57 PM : Jan 16, 2008That is why they want to stifle anyone who disagrees with them to think any one would vote for the bully mc cain who is war monger and a clone to Bush is beyond me

''Why does this administration suggest that giving away our liberty and Constitutional rights here is the only way to insure liberty in Iraq?''

they dont just suggest it, they plan on it. it is alarming the amount of people that still believe or justify the iraq war linking it to 911 and the broader terrorism war in general. especially when prior to iraq, saddam had a tight grip on his country and any terrorist organization including al-queda were quickly eliminated because they were a threat to his mafia type dictatorship.
