FeelFree1,,, We have absoultly no idea what''s verified or not, especially if it comes out of Bush''s yap ----- Wouldn''t it be great if they all wore name stickers with the groups logo, like a company picnic ??? --- On the most part, I agree with you.

ilikecats1,,, By the definition, when waterbording was done, that was a conspiracy ---

First: That two or more persons, in some way or manner, came to a mutual understanding to try to accomplish a common and unlawful plan, as charged in the indictment;

Second: That the person willfully became a member of such conspiracy;

Third: That one of the conspirators during the existence of the conspiracy knowingly committed at least one of the methods (or ''overt acts'') described in the indictment; and

Fourth: That such ''overt act'' was knowingly committed at or about the time alleged in an effort to carry out or accomplish some object of the conspiracy.

An ''overt act'' is any transaction or event, even one which may be entirely innocent when considered alone, but which is knowingly committed by a conspirator in an effort to accomplish some object of the conspiracy.

A person may become a member of a conspiracy without knowing all of the details of the unlawful scheme, and without knowing who all of the other members are. So, if a person has an understanding of the unlawful nature of a plan and knowingly and willfully joins in that plan on one occasion, that is sufficient to convict him for conspiracy even though he did not participate before, and even though he played only a minor part.

j-whitman,

Re: "FeelFree1,,, It may not be Al Queda proper, but an off shoot..."

I am unconvinced of this. The number of "foreign fighters" in Iraq has never been seriously estimated to be more than a few thousand. Relatively negligable really.

I think that the overwhelming majority of the armed resistance in Iraq has always been composed of a combinaion of Saddam''s army, which Bremmer so foolishly disbanded, along with Iraqis from all walks of life that are unhappy about their friends and family being humiliated, imprisoned, tortured, executed, raped, displaced, impoverished, and/or soddomized by various U.S. agents.

The Iraqis have every right to defend themselves against this behavior, of course, and that is why it is so important for the Bush regime to maintain the illusion of a boogie-man in Iraq. Without one, they stand naked, with no justification whatsoever for maintaining the illegal invasion of Iraq.

Have you ever seen a verifiable report concerning "al-Qaeda-in-Iraq"? I haven''t. Do you suppose they carry "Qaeda" ID cards?

Can you present any evidence supporting the alleged "link" between this group and "al-Qaeda-in-Iraq"? Shall we just accept this much echoed assertion as fact, without any evidence?

FeelFree1,,, It may not be Al Queda proper, but an off shoot... According to the news we are still fighting them in the north & south of Baghdad as before.... But you can count on the leader being a Saudi -
-- I thought it was odd that it showed a Iraqi feast in Anbar & on the other side of the wall we were launching mortars at Al Queda not far away

yongamerica,

Re: "Feefree1 is mad crazy with the idea that al Qaeda is not in Iraq, yet Al jazeera contradicts him again here:"

I am not as trusting of the coverage offered by al-Jazeera as you apparently are.

With a brief review of the article that you posted, we can see that there is once again exactly zero evidence presented suggesting the existance of "al-Qaeda-in-Iraq", just more vague and unreferenced assertions.

In fact, the article that you cited does instead reference the "Brigades of 1920 Revolution", which appears to a legitimate armed Iraqi resistance group that commemorates the Iraqi resistance group that successfully ousted the British in the early 20th century.

Note that this legitimate Iraqi resistance group stems from a movement that was active in the 1920s, hence the name, and predating "al-Qaeda" by decades.

We note that this very article, announcing the upcoming fake "Osama" video from SITE, mentions a group called "Islamic State of Iraq", and not "al-Qaeda-in-Iraq", which is understandable, since "al-Qaeda-in-Iraq" appears to be little more than a shabby, Made-in-USA hoax.

Regarding the legitamacy of Osama''s up coming speach: The information in this article far out weighs the opinion of feefree1. This article has stated where and how the information was obtained. Feelfree1 again offers nothing to support his "far superior knowledge" on the subject.

Feefree1 is mad crazy with the idea that al Qaeda is not in Iraq, yet Al jazeera contradicts him again here:

I''ll take back the word ninkenpoop as rude, but all of what is happening in the country and abroad has gone beyond the point of being absurd and funny into being plain frightening. Like the last fellow said, this fundamentalist administration, the regime, has made some major errors. Check out our take on it at www.matrix-evolutions.com.

Now, I''m not saying that Bush is going to become president for life and start setting up concentration camps. America is not going to become a new Nazi Germany. Our system of government has built in protections for that sort of severe extremism from takng us over. But it''s the little things, the warrentless wiretapping, the secret prisons and the legalized torture that are slipping through the cracks. We are letting down our guard and letting these draconian measures through, all because of fear.

And once Bush leaves, those extra illegal powers he gained will still be there. No president, Dem or Repub, is going to give those powers up voluntarily. And as history has also shown, once power is given, it is hard to take it back.
