Asked if the United States would be willing to talk with Iran, Gates said the behavior of Iran''s new leadership "has not given one confidence that a dialogue would be productive."

As if the leadership in the White House would give one confidence that diologue would be productive.

The only thing that team has resolved through diologue in 7 years was N. Korea and that was after calling them names for 5 years, which got nowhere, and then giving them the Clinton deal plus.

"I explained that the men of Blackwater were true patriots, heroes who volunteered to go into harms way "--Posted by BaghdadsHere

VOLUNTEERED? Did they now! Last I looked, volunteers work for free, not for $125,000 per year!

They''re nothing more than Hessians.

And BaghdadsRear is one of them. He''s probably paid by Blackwater to spew his neoconscum cud on this site.

%u201CThe Real Story Behind Blackwater
National Review Online: Media Intentionally Paints Negative Portrait Of Security Firm%u201D

I explained that the men of Blackwater were true patriots, heroes who volunteered to go into harms way to protect the lives of American diplomats and elected officials, some of whom were attacking the very company that kept them safe overseas. Yet because the antiwar Left (most vocally supported by liberal Democrats in the House and Senate) wanted to score political points, they constantly accused Blackwater of being unaccountable and above the law. Nothing, I said, was further from the truth, and these so-called legislators should be ashamed of themselves for being ignorant of the statutes governing the conduct of security contractors overseas.

Re: "There can be little doubt that their destabilizing foreign policies are a threat to the interests of the United States..."

This coming from a top U.S. war criminal; one who presides over an illegal, fraud-based war that has claimed a million lives.

Re: "And in a sarcastic riff, he goaded Iran to acknowledge its bad behavior - from arming terrorists in Iraq to its support for militant organizations like Hezbollah and Hamas."

This will be the surrogate excuse for waging a war of aggression against Iran, in the months to come, having failed to sell the nuclear weapons ruse to the public.

Re: "Gates said..."Since that government now acknowledges the quality of American intelligence assessments, I assume that it also will embrace as valid American intelligence assessments of its funding and training of militia groups in Iraq."

Mr. Gates assumes dead wrong here. The many various claims of Iranian weapons and training in Iraq remain unsupported assertions without a single case of substantiation.

At any rate, the Iraqi people obviously have every right to defend themselves against the horrific and criminal invasion of their country, and if the Iraqi resistance welcomes assistance from their neighbors in this regard, that is their choice.

We have no legitimate business there, and we never did.

Prinzowhales,
Assuming that this idiotic conspiracy theory of yours is true, who would these so-called culprits be? And what could possibly be the motivation to blow up an office building in Oklahoma of all places?
As far as the IRA the only people that supported them were people that were in the IRA and a very few in the US who would likely supported bombings. After all that''s why they donated money to the IRA- for bombings.
I don''t kmow anything about President Cossiga, but I don''t see how he would have any inside info on the CIA or Mossad.
