Gates is spurring a lost cause. (1) The NIE directly contradicts the administration, (2) Saturday night, CNN ran an investigative special on Iran. There were numerous missed opportunties where we could have had constructive dialogue with Iran but the Administration chose not to, (3) In effect, the article shows that Gate''s speech was combative and had a "our way or the highway" manner. This riles folks. (4) There has to be a number of unstable nations that are further along in uranium enrichment than Iran. Why is there no mention of them and finally, (5) The administration has only 12.5 months to go. I sincerely doubt that anything constructive can be done within that time.

Gates: Gulf Nations Must Confront Iran,,,

Why should Gulf Nations confront Iran when they can always rely on the U.S. to do their dirty work for them!

There can be little doubt that their destabilizing foreign policies are a threat to the interests of the United States, to the interests of every country in the Middle East - Gates

Hold on there! Whose "destabilizing" policies? What a load of manure!

bushit neocon policies from pre-emptive war, to abandonment of NPT, not to mention all other criminal and un-Constitutional acts have brought this country to major failures domestically and internationally.

No, sir, all bush policies have been wrong from the word go.

What a predictable lot these dead-enders have become.

Re: "Persian Gulf nations must demand that Iran come clean about its past nuclear ambitions and openly vow to not develop such weapons in the future, U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Saturday."

He''s hardly in a position to be making demands on anyone, or to be dictating to others as to what they should be demanding though, now is he?
