That is JUST NOT TRUE. There''s no reason for that to be true because they are subject to checks and balances. As the Sarge said before he left, we, our generation, went through this, we passed laws to prevent any President from using the CIA in such a way... we passed laws during and after Vietnam to STOP such abuses and gave Intelligence committee''s in BOTH branches of Congress oversight over them. Now we either are going to live by the law or we aren''t.

A limited hangout typically is a response to lower the pressure felt from inquisitive investigators pursuing clues that threaten to expose everything, and the disclosure is often combined with red herrings or propaganda elements that lead to false trails, distractions, or ideological disinformation; thus allowing covert or criminal elements to continue in their improper activities.

What the CIA and the Bush Administration have done here can not be condoned and to try to make excuses for that is not going to solve the problem. The problem is that our leader has another year to go and has NO creditability either here or in the world. The problem is our leader and this administration think they are above the law. WE the PEOPLE must correct that or leave a nation stripped of it''s honor and place in the world to our children. So many like myself and Sarge have put on that uniform and walked into combat. So many have died before us to make sure that ANYONE who puts one of us through torture while a prisoner will face the LAW we have created for such things. Now? Sorry to pop the bubble of a Nazi when they are attempting to put everyone they don''t agree with in a Box and call it "Liberal" but the Courts have RULED consistently that 1) the CIA is NOT above the Law or the Constitution (check the Nixon Administrations challenge) and 2) that the IRS is constitutional (there are many and I do mean many rulings to that effect). Now I know you bootlickers don''t like the Constitiution or the seperation of powers, you''ve proven that many times but there is a seperation of powers witht he Federal Courts being the ones to determine what is or is NOT constitutional. Under Clinton, "suspects" were "transferred" to the authority of an allied government intelligence agency. For example, suspects were being "interrorgated" in Egypt by Egyptians intelligence officers with a CIA "advisor" standing by and observing. Thats how Clinton got around it.
