The operational name of the CIA contingent at Tora Bora was "Jawbreaker". It was led by its field Commander Gary Berntsen(described as an avid Bush supporter). He''s trying to publish a book about CIA operations against Al Quaeda, including the African Embassy bombings as well as Tora Bora. He''s taking the CIA to court because he says they''re trying to prevent unclassified info from being in the book.
He claims that when Bush & Kerry debated Tora Bora during the Presidential campaign that both were incorrect on what actually transpired on the ground. I guess we''ll have to wait for the book to know exactly what that means.
Ther''s another CIA guy who comments on Tora Bora named Gary Schroen. It''s possible he''s the guy I heard on tv, but the guy I saw was described as the Commander, so I''m pretty certain that it was Berntsen. - Reply to this comment
