Brianbwb, I agree. A democracy is nothing without free will.

Kurt Vonnegut said it right. We are in a position to tell other countries how to have a democracy. You form a democracy and a constitution, then after a hundred years divide the country in half and have a bloody civil war and you let your slaves go, then after another hundred years, you let women vote, then you put the president in complete control and destroy yourselves economically trying to win first place in every race.

Iraq is way ahead of the game by not having slaves and being ready to have their civil war a hundred years early. Let''s let ''em duke it out.

I know Hillary''s taking money from AIPAC and she''s been supporting the war, but have you read her wacky book: "It Takes a Village?" She''s 100% pure Socialist. Bill was very much a centrist, which was why he was so popular, but Hillary wants to rock the boat way left once she has the warmongers put her in.

As for the debate between Cheney and Edwards, I am not at all saying I would support Cheney for president, I''m just saying that someone who loses that badly in a debate isn''t going to do well diplomatically with tough countries like China and Russia.

"Now the situation has changed where I''m able to speculate on the hypothetical."

Those big words must have hurt coming out, but the point I want to make is that now is not the time to speculate, as all of Bush''s speculations to date have been exactly wrong. It is time to bring our children home, ans leave the Iraqis to their own devices.

,, I''m too old for that stuff, too many just pretend it wasn''t happening & thought I was nuts when I pointed it out to them..
.. Been there done that before in San Diego, they stay locked up in thier own little world.. Same thing all over the place, people just don''t open thier eyes or think it can''t happen here.
.. Most don''t know what''s going on next door.

j-whitman,.......Glad to see that you got to a better place than before. My brother is a sheriffs deputy in Pierce County, WA. Went on a few night rides with him to see all the trouble that goes on.......Whoa! Man there are some nut jobs out and about there. I like it where I''m at as life is sooooo much slower where you can enjoy it. The weather is OK most of the time. Our new Governor Strickland seems to be doing a good job. No news is usually good news. Anyone''s better than Taft!...UGH!

JohnShaft4,

Re: "Of course, der Fuhrer Bush wants to cut back troops in Iraq, so that he can redploy our soldiers to the (soon to be) Iranian Front."

This seems like the most likely motivation for such a move, but it appears that the Iraqi resistance groups have their own plan for a U.S. troop reduction.

fascistusa,

Re: "Or I can go to a REAL Democracy, live a life WITHOUT WARS, and keep that ONE real Democracy SAFE from The Fascist States of America : CANADA."

Interesting take on it, but aren''t the Canadians largely hostages of the U.S. economy?

Aren''t the Canadians willingly helping us to oppress the people of Afghanistan- helping the Karzai-puppet extract resources from the region, and helping to protect the opium crops?

cfin5,,, Sounds like a nice place,, Funny story... I''ve got only a 10 minute drive to the country & about 30 minutes to a wonderful quiet delta. Can''t stand big cities
.. It''s not so bad as when I moved here from San Diego, I had idiots selling crank in the middle of a busy road, more idiots jumping my back yard fence & doing cartwheels in the middle of the street.... Pretty nice here now

j-whitman,.....I see. Don''t take this wrong, but I could not take living in that kind of neighborhood. I am in a regular area in Ohio you might say with lots of Amish and some Mennonites. They are good folks, but the kids are uhm,....not church members yet put it that way. The other day my daughter was out walking and some Amish teenagers were going by in their buggy. My daughter waved to him and he cheers''d her back with his beer bottle. She came in the door laughing with the story.

From what I see.. it''s time to abandon America.

Fahrenheit 451. Atlas Shrugged. The Running Man.

ZEITGEISTmovie.com.

Let''s see.. I can stay here and lead a horrific life in a Polivce State with No Right, Dictatorship, and No Opportunity...

Or I can go to a REAL Democracy, live a life WITHOUT WARS, and keep that ONE real Democracy SAFE from The Fascist States of America : CANADA.

mh4cbs1,

Re: "If Hillary is nominated I will vote for the Green Party candidate"

I am with you in spirit, and I will consider them, but I am still disappointed with their "safe state" strategy in 2004.

They appeared to have been heavily infiltrated and coopted by the Democrats during that period, and I think that the result of this left them Greens looking less than serious about claiming power.

Besides that, I am not all that confident that we will be holding elections next November.

At any rate, I share your ideals here.
