He was also an 'authoritarian,' as is Bush. That contributes to the explanation of the motivation of both of them.

To compare Bush to Hitler probably isn't 'fair' or 'smart,' however, there's no denying that he's an authoritarian. Would he do the dispicable things that Hitler did? Probably not because he's not nearly the authoritarian that Hitler was.

Well, this started out on topic and fairly civil for the first few pages; but in the last few pages religion took over and that's pretty much the end of any civil discussion on the topic.

I'm wondering why these people went into Afghanistan when they were told not to. Aid workers or not, they had to know that the Taliban operated there and they also had to know it was a dangerous place.

Do I feel sorry for them? Yes.

Should we trade Taliban prisoners for their release? No.

Should we (the U.S.) go in and rescue them? Definitely not. Let the S. Korean army do that if they want to.

If the Taliban killed a sick man instead of turning him loose to seek treatment then they will probably kill the hostages. I'm really sorry about their plight and outraged that the barbaric Taliban would do that.

But they knew, or should have known the situation and the odds of surviving if they were caught. Plus, they were told...

Regardless what the bible says, we know very little about Jesus. The first full-length account of his life was St. Mark's Gospel written 40 years after his death. By then historical facts had been replaced with mythical elements as expressed by his followers, and this is what St. Mark wrote about.

The rest is 'biblical' history, not factual history.

If I wanted to learn a religion I would study the bible for that religion. If I wanted an INDEPENDENT perspective of religious history, which I do want, I would read unbiased books on the history of religion. For example, "A History of God" or "The Battle for God" both by Karen Armstrong. She probably has more knowledge about religion in her little finger than you have in your entire brain. And I would definitely believe her UNBIASED information before I would even consider entertaining your extremely BIASED opinion.

Why do Christians think that Jews will join them in the kingdom of heaven when Jews don't recognize Jesus, and never will?

In fact, try reading the book "Hitler's Pope" for actual facts, instead of the racist spew that you throw on these pages.
