I don't think the risk has increased or decreased. I think maybe the republican fear tactics have/will increase as we come up on an election year in an effort to retain their influence in the white house.

Usually, a "gut feeling" comes after years and years of doing something. He doesn't have that history in him. He might as well carry around a crystal ball.
