- well it is no surprise that hot heads from they say the islamic faith, should put together some deadly but child like science 'bombs'.
the british establishment threw out a challenge by giving a muslim writer who lives in the US a national award. Salman Rushdie sure must be a good read, or he knows a lot of useful people!
The people who make up this awards panel are not directly government people, but they sure are a set of dumb people.
We in the UK are very good at clearing up after the horse has bolted, and then congratulating ourselves on how well we coped with the situation,
In actual fact we have been very lucky indeed, I passed the exact location of the first car only 24 hours prior to its discovery,

- These things are going to just keep happening, until these animals perfect their technique and actually begin killing people. I keep wondering how many have to be killed by these murderers before everyone unites and wakes up to the fact that the terrorists have declared war on the rest of the world, and it's either kill or be killed.

- Chertoff is a joke. King George and Mr. Five-Deferement Cheney are our incompetent nincompoop marvels of Chickenhawkdom. Iraq has been a debacle from the get-go. Three thousand American soldiers' lives have been thrown away, and over $1,000,000,000 of the American taxpayers' money has been squandered on an ungrateful people who still live in the Stone Age. Now with Islamic terrorists stalking the world in search of soft targets, our southern border remains wide open, and our country is thick with illegal aliens from all over the globe. Who among them is a terrorist? How would we know? How would we find them? Several thousand illegal aliens from the Mideast have been apprehended along the US/Mexico border since 9/11. Mr. Chertoff, King George and Mr. Five-Deferement Cheney are incompetent, for otherwise the number one breach in our nation's security -- the unprotected US/Mexico border -- would be receiving a lot more attention and resources. So while those arriving by air into our country are strip-searches, tens of thousands illegal aliens skip across our southern border every day at will and unopposed. They include pregnant illegal aliens carrying drop babies, drug runners, criminals, child molesters, terrorists and, of course, the millions of uneducated, unskilled, non-English-speaking dregs of Latin American society who will drag our country down into third status much sooner than we would like to think. WHERE'S THE FENCE?????

- To radiob - the badlands of Pakistan is NOT an entire country. This area cannot even be controlled by the Pakistan government. This is a sanctuary for both the Taliban and alQaeda - if this is a true war on terror then sanctuaries are legal targets.

The FBI, CIA, NSA, etc. were asleep - simple airport and airplane security could have stopped 9/11. As to our liberties, Bush/Cheney have secretly corrupted the Constitution and our laws for 6+ years. Every day you can read of their latest attempt to rule by presidential order. They bypassed the courts and the legislature. Read the Washington Post stories on how Cheney used 9/11 to annoint himself as above the law.
There are security cameras throughout the city I live, they are coming and nobody can stop them. I don't have issues with cameras in PUBLIC. At least they are in the open so everyone can see them. There has to be a multi-layered approach (I am not a "leftie" a moderate)one that utilizes military force when necessary ex.9-11, one that also utilizes a counter recruitment to terrorism(ie preventing terrorist from becoming terrorist, public relations ie Darfur) and good intelligence for prevention.The ideology (extremism of the Quaran) must be challenged by the Muslim community. At the same time we must make efforts not to inflame and foment terrorism. The war in Iraq (according to the NIE) has helped the extremist in their recruitment. No countermeasure from the NIE to reverse the recruitment which they should have done in their report. - Reply to this comment
