Isn't it interesting that we've been selling F-14 parts to Iran for the past 6 years and the Republicans never put a stop to it on their watch. But, remember that they're the ones that will keep us safe as they militarily aid a member of the axis of evil.

Do you think we can reassign Paris Hilton as an unlawful enemy combatant? She is what the Military Commisions Act was made for. Secret trial, slam the jail door, bye bye, sorry we can't hear you crying.

Wait a minute. You can detain a person with a contagious desease forever but you can't hold a terrorist? Fine tell us when and were you are going to release him and we will take care of him. The government should argue it is for his own protection because it is.

BECAUSE you pathetic Fascist the CONSTITUTION says you can't!! This was in this nation Legally and was denied the very rights we all SHOULD stand for. If you clowns are going to be such sniveling cowards and give all our rights away, why not just surrender? If we do not stand up for our way of life and are going to be so scared that we are willing to give up the most sacred of our rights, the enemy has already won. No leader, ESPECIALLY one as INCOMPETENT as Bush, should be able to play Judge and Jury! How do we know, given the long history of lying by this pathetic piece of Human Garbage a few call a President. I for one will stand and fight for the constitution and ALL the rights contained therein. If you Southern Fascist don't have the courage to do that then slime back under your rocks and we'll take care of it. God where do you fascist come from? Sieg Heil Y'all.

You mean like the mistakes Republicanazis keep making?

Like voting for an absolute lying, SOB moron?

If you want to talk about mistakes, you only need mention the entire Bush Admin as mistakes.

But you Republicanazis who voted for him are the biggest mistakes.

At least Liberals don't need to lie to express what they want - unlike GW Bush.

Are you saying that you're going to "identify" Iceman_1960?

Or are you saying that the Government is going to "identify" Iceman_1960?

Regardless, I bet you don't even have a clue about the methods that someone could use to obtain "relative" anonymity on the Internet.

And unless he actually made an actual threat to someone, I highly doubt anyone (even the Fascist morons in the Bush Admin) would care about "identifying" him.

I bet you're just some little Republicanazi ****@nt that has absolutely no idea what the heck they are talking about.

You Republicanazis really are stupid.

Do yourself a favor, go and read the Constitution and then tell me why this current Government has thrown out many of our freedoms.

Then go and look up the definition of fascist in the dictionary.

If you know how.

Moron.

Hey I didn't know BILLY RAY CYRUS was an unlawful enemy combatant. I know "Achy Breaky Heart" was bad, but didn't realise it was destroying the country. Thank God for military commisions act for sparing us the wondrous tones of Billy Ray.

I never said I was going to look for your personal identity, Iceman. Nor did I make any personal threats.

But, even if you were identified, that in itself would not be a terrorist action. You are ill-informed. Really, phishing for stalking purposes... You are being far too paranoid. Short of being a DBA in CBS's web site - just how would I get your personal identification ? Relax, ok.

DefndLiberty - check out the 22nd amendment - I don't think the Pres will get voted in again. Another liberal that doesn't research his facts. I'm not saying that none of the liberals do, but it sure happens alot. A theme we see again and again.

I just love it when liberals make broad sweeping statements like tuckerndfw makes, "Except to Bush and supporters, and they don't acknowledge the US Constitution as a legal document."

It's like - if I say it enough, it is REALLY true. Yeah - Bush lied to get us into war. Gee, didn't congress have the same info ? Did they bother to read it ?

omega39: Right on, except the trial itself is to determine guilt or otherwise.

republican7: I don't vote my pocketbook and am probably not in the big tent, whatever that means. I don't vote for myself at all. I vote for the country, even if that might conceivably inconvenience me on a personal. More people should.

4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals: Thank you. It's nice to know somebody still cares about the Constitution.

If Bush can just figure out which justices on the appeals court are going to vote against him, he can just declare them enemy combatants, throw them in the navy brig (without access to an attorney) & just have his way with the court.

OoopppppSSSS!!! I'm giving him ideas.

speakinup uses threat tactics to suppress opinions that differ from his.

His implied threat was "I'll 'identify' you and punish you for dissenting from my leader, so 'for your own sake' you better shut up and toe the line."

This is a terrorist tactic, and in the U.S., Internet threats (his was an example of "phishing" - personal identity tracking for stalking purposes) are felonies.

You do prison time for that.

If that was a personal threat, I spit on it.

Internet threats can gain you some serious prison time.

If you ever are in prison, don't be bad mouthing Muslims.

Thank god the insanity of this would-be dictator named bush is getting its just desserts in the courts.

To rule otherwise would be to give bush the right to imprison John Kerry in a naval brig without a lawyer through the election just by calling him an enemy combatant, just so bush could win by default.

News flash: THE CONSTITUTION HAS NOT BEEN REPEALED!!

Three cheers for this court!!!

Bloodlet

My political views would best be described as libertarian. I cut my teeth on Mill's "on liberty" and quite enjoyed nozick as well. I have always voted republican because I vote my pocket book, I don't find the republican stands on social issues too offensive (until now, that is), and because I think it will be a cold day in h&ll when the libertarians can actually win an election.

In truth, there are others like me in the republican party. Not all of us ascribe to the social agenda of the party. For us, the republican party is a marriage of convenience. We're in "the big tent". But what George Bush has done to civil liberties in this country is deeply offensive to me & would be to anybody who holds the political views I hold. I'm not the only one.

I have no idea who I'll vote for next time. I probably just won't vote for the first time since I've been old enough to do so. Bill Richardson seems to have his head screwed on straight, but again that is likely a wasted vote just as voting for a libertarian would be.

In other words, you do not support the US Constitution. Which is to be expected, neither does George Bush or the GOP.

The US Constitution does not restrict or limit "rights" to citizens. The provisions of the Constitution, including the Bill of Rights, apply to all persons.

According to your rather warped ideas, a tourist in the US has no legal protections ("rights") whatsoever. Which is clearly not the case. Non-citizens have the same basic rights as everyone else in the US.

"Innocent until proven guilty" applies to everyone, citizen and non-citizen, regardless what they are charged with, including "terrorism."

Except to Bush and supporters, and they don't acknowledge the US Constitution as a legal document.

Hey Bush boot-lickers, what part of

"To sanction such presidential authority to order the military to seize and indefinitely detain civilians, even if the President calls them 'enemy combatants,' would have disastrous consequences for the constitution %u2014 and the country."

do you not get? If the guy is guilty, charge him and put him on trial. Otherwise, Bush is running the modern day equivalent of Stalin's Russia where people "disappeared" in to the gulags.

The passage of time has been Bush's harshest and most unbiased critic, and rightfully so.

The facts (e.g., 3500+ lives lost in Iraq, America's lost of honor and world prestige, having a court jester as Secretary of Defense, "Mission Accomplished," "Bring'em on") speak for themselves.
