What I'd like to know is how JWL's father came to be so deluded about why his son was in Afghanistan in the first place. He is quoted as saying that "it was completely unfair" that JWL was "wrongly accused". Maybe JWL brought back some of Afghanistan's agricultural products for his dad to smoke.

An please, let's not make this a GWB vs. Hillary/Nancy issue. The Dems are no more likely to let this guy go than Bush is.

Besides it was GWB who pulled the plug on following OBL into Tora Bora where our guys could have nailed him. Instead he focussed wrongly in Iraq, and look where we are with that? Nowhere. What monumental stupidity.

This young man got into something so deep and over his head. Maybe he was immature. He could have been a good source of intelligence for the US. He was an easy political target during the Donald Rumsfield era, who put him up there with Private Lynch, when the White House wanted to get easy popular support for this cause. It makes me wonder what was going on in his home life. How could a child transform into something like that? Something in his home robbed his aspiration to be a a US patriot. Something about this young man is extraordinary and impressive - He Pleaded Guilty. That is a sign that he desires to be re-patriated to the US. The terrorist war isn't over. We may have use for him.

But hey, like Hillary08 said - Pelosi, Reid, and Murtha will clean him up, buy him a suit and have him run for Congress as a MoveOn.Org (Nazi) Democrat. After all, they gave us AbdulBamma Ellison and Steppin' Obama. What's another traitor for the treason party?

I can't believe that any Conservative or Republican is talking about taxation. The federal budgets that are a necessary biproduct of taxation clearly show that Republicans always include the huge invisible, yet very real, tax of huge deficits. Who do you think really finances these huges deficits? Americans, through huge financing that we pay for. So we are paying for W and his flawed fiscal policies.

Back to reality, too bad for JWL but he did the crime so now he does the time. The Aussie had his govt speaking for him. JWL attacked his govt.

Any Democrat is a better alternative than W.
And so is any Republican that can see that W's policies of warmongering against countries that do NOT attack us or aid those who do attack us (like Al Qaeda).
