The right to bear arms in no way affects a government's ability to restrict freedoms. A person can possess all the firearms he can afford, but those firearms do not ensure his freedoms.

The only thing that ensures freedom is a community that actively promotes and supports freedom. An individual within a community cannot be free if the community does not support individual freedom.

And, most Americans are too lazy to vote for their own interests, so it is highly unlikely they would take up arms to defend or regain their freedoms.

While I have no doubt that Khalid Shaikh Mohammed was involved with terrorist plots, and was an al-Qaida memeber, there is no telling what someone subject to torture will admit to. Lets face it , if I was tortured, and I thought the only way to stop it was to confess to some horrible act, I might sign anything they put in front of me.

I am not an American haters or a socialist. I heard a report on the raido this morning from an FBI interrigator who said bascly the same thing, information gathered via torture is known to be unreliable. If Khalid Shaikh Mohammed is guilty of everthing he confessed to, I'll belive it when the details of the operation and his involvment are released.
