Fellas, we must keep in mind they NEED al Qaeda. The color coded terror alert doesn't work anymore - they went to the well one too many times. Either that, or WalMart warned they could not stand for any more runs on duct tape. So the pat answer in a pinch: remind us of al Qaeda. Remember them? It serves them well anytime they need to distract or derail any substantive debate. The vast majority of Joe Q. Publique still cannot discern the byzantine differences between Sunni and Shiite, let alone fathom that the vast majority of Sunnis in Iraq would turn on al Qaeda in a heart beat. So they keep the Taliban and Osama and the other evils just tucked away far enough in the shadows that they can lug 'em at a moments notice to cow the masses back into complaisance.

That's an outdated info. There are some areas where there is no village for miles. Some areas are inaccessible even by mules. Secondly, if OBL & Co do exist, they must be highly camouflaged(meaning using laddies Burqas - veils) or may have already had their appearances changed. We only see their old pictures.

radiob:

What are your views on our spy czar's comments: that we know where he(bin laden) is or where he is hiding?
Posted by diplomacy3

Without any known physical sightings of Bin Laden or interceptions of communications, it is almost impossible to say for certain where he is.Outside of justice for 9-11 how relevant is he today? Is he essentially impotent? Not meaning to diminish the war on terror itself but how effective in command and control is he today? The org. that he formed has morphed into individual cells and has no known central leader. The last audio tape was over a year ago, we know that he was alive then.

Deafening silence from our chest-beaters on the right. Where are the hawks? Why do we not hear them screaming for red meat?

The only Kool-Aid drinker I've seen tonight was badaxmofo on another board. I spanked him and sent him off.

There is 100% illiteracy. Even human intelligence would prove false.

They sell posters of bin Laden in every village in the area. He is known where Musharraf is not.

He evades detection in spite of the bounty because the people believe that he knows what best for them - not America.

The guy is nearly 7 feet tall and needs dialysis!hhow many fit that profile in the area?

Let's presume he is alive and hiding in those rugged mountains. If I am not wrong Pakistan has (reportedly)a 2500KM long porous border with Afghanistan. It is known about the people in that area that they don't even know the name of their President, needless to mention the bounty. There is 100% illiteracy. Even human intelligence would prove false.

Can you hear it? Deafening silence from our chest-beaters on the right. Where are the hawks? Why do we not hear them screaming for red meat? I would at least expect some lame "Clinton's fault" excuses from the knuckle-draggers. Indeed they may finally be shamed into submission at last. The truth cannot be ignored people: Bush had bin Laden and the al Qaeda right where we wanted them and international support to finish the war quickly. Of course that did not play into the long-term game plan to privatize war and entrench the military-industrial elites even further into our government treasury. So we called off the dogs: Bush himself even said "nor do I spend that much time on him." Now the chicken have come home with a vengeance! The Taliban rose from the ashes, al Qaeda regrouped and recruited with a gusto given the disaster in Iraq, and the "hang 'em high" crowd just keeps trying to blame the liberals for the mess. Nice try boys, but this ones got George W. Bush and *** Cheney's name written all over it.

Because OBL himself is a billionaire. If the bounty is raised, maybe there is some response.

I doubt he's giving $25 million a head to each and every person he has contact with to buy their loyalty.

Omar is no billionaire and his $25 million bounty remains uncollected as well......
