Typical neocon rhetoric. Anyone who recognizes a failed strategy is a traitor and "wants" Amerca to fail in Iraq.

It's not a question of wanting, it's a question of reality.

A standing army can never defeat a competent geurilla force that has the support of the local polulace. A few examples of same:

Colombia and the Phillipines have been failing with this same strategy for forty years now.

Guatemala failed with it for 36 years until they sat down to the peace table.

We failed with it for 20 years in Viet Nam until we sat down to the peace table.

The USSR failed with it for 12 years in Afghanistan until they packed up and went home.

It's like starting off on a trip in the wrong direction and convincing yourself that if you drive long enough, you'll reach your destination anyway.....
