"We have had much success in the Mid-East inspite of the violence,"

Nothing has changed in the middle east, and it never will. Bush has nothing to do with it.

"You don't defend Muslims who stand up to extremism?"

That's not what I said.

"I defend anyone who stands up to muslim extremism (essentially everyone but muslims)."

You don't defend Muslims who stand up to extremism? I'm glad you're not over there trying to win the "hearts and minds" of the Iraqi people. Thanks for cutting and running from the very people who are most needed to solve the situation in the Middle East.

"Here, RonnieHM, look at all the Muslim "monsters" showing sympathy for the victims of 9/11:"

Well, that makes me feel a little better. We could use about a billion more like them.

Of course christians and jews may condemn what moslems do while burning tires and ambassies for their prophet is attacked. They'd not attack Abraham, Moses or Jesus, or laugh at them. They Beleive in them all. It's a one way situation where a Moslem cannot curse or blaspheme the previous prophets, but the older religions' belongers can.

"And it's up to us to walk in, topple Saddam, and force evolution on them. World political police."

As I said, if Bush had been correct that iraqis were already evolved, then yes. It turns out they weren't.

"RonnieHM, you asked for examples. I gave them to you. Your statement that no one in the Arab world expressed sympathy was false."

I never said that. I asked about protests. You know, demonstrations. Taking to the streets. Standing up. Showing the terrorists you hate them. Anything like that?

"Well if the only way they could be under control is a guy like Saddam, then my point is made. They need to evolve."

And it's up to us to walk in, topple Saddam, and force evolution on them. World political police.

Remember, these people were NOT a threat to us, as opposed to Bin Laden, who we KNEW to be a threat.

Bush/Rice just got there. Go back a few centuries.

"A minute of silence? Gee." RonnieHM, you asked for examples. I gave them to you. Your statement that no one in the Arab world expressed sympathy was false. If that's not good enough for you, you're just ignoring reality. You want to make all Arabs out to be monsters, and if you put your mind to it nothing I can do to stop you. But don't think your argument rests in reality if you do.

Nope, my bad RonnieHM. 180,000 Kurds were killed in one campaign.

I did mention that bit about murderous monster, right?

"You mean like a soccer stadium filled with people, in the part you requoted from me?"

A minute of silence? Gee. For cartoons, they'll burn down an embassy. For 9/11, they'll take a 60-second break from a soccer game.

Well, unless you count the government. The guy dropped gas on an entire city and killed almost 200,000 people in one day.

Not to lessen the number, but the 200,000 poor souls you mention were killed over a 35 year period, not "in one day". But, point noted. I've never said Saddam was anything but a murdurous monster. High-functioning.

"And what's with this theory that America showed up and suddenly Sunnis and Shiites wanted to kill each other? They were all in Iraq before we got there. We made them hate each other?"

No, they've hated each other for centuries. Saddam controlled the situation like the USSR did in then-Yugoslavia. When the central government fell, the old tensions were let loose.
