I agree with Andrew Sullivan who wrote in the London Times, "Torture by any other name is just as vile." The Bush Administration propaganda machine is in high gear, trying to spin the English language, Orwellian style, to fit it's twisted logic. Unfortunately for the US, torture is now a part of it's sad & shameful recent history, never to be erased. What's worse, is that those responsible for committing such vile war crimes will never be held accountable because of recent legislation passed by the US Congress. Such a sad & shameful time for the US.

Larry Cox of Amnesty International said today: "What's really a no-brainer is that no U.S. official, much less a vice president, should champion torture. Vice President Cheney's advocacy of water boarding sets a new human rights low at a time when human rights is already scraping the bottom of the Bush administration barrel."

What is really insulting is Chaney's insinuation that the American people secretly approve of torture and are on his side - wink, wink.

If Vice President *** Cheney was endorsing torture, I really don't care. He and others in the Republican party should quit apologizing and/or defending everything they say. The last thing I care about at this point in time is whether or not a Muslim is tortured by an American.

The Supreme Court, the House of Representatives, The Senate should have done to G.W. Bush and his staff what G.W's parents should have done years ago; SLAP THAT FOOL IN THE FACE.

To bad for us, most of the above protections from presidential abuse will not be put in check with the RUBBER STAMP united GOP. That's why we need to VOTE these mindless talking point passing Republicans out of power, and replace them with folks who can think freely and listen.

If we don't we'll be HIGH on money and low on cash for the rest of our lives.

Remember this: The days are long but the weeks are fast. So the next time cursory leaders want to take power in the United States, I'm not going to let them use up a tenth of my life doing it.

Here is CBS spoon feeding the FAR left, Fiction-loving, Factless, blooging liberals in this country by promoting something they absolutley know is not true...lol. CBS, no wonder why your ratings suck are being beaten by Seinfeld reruns.

CBS who do you hate more...George Bush, *** Cheany, or Christianity?

We in America need to pull back from this Frenzy of Fear that has spellbound us since September 11, 2001. I am not saying to let down our guard or not be prudent with our Law enforcement, Intelligence agencies or Military as their constant job is to protect the American people and they do it well. Rationally speaking it is more likely that a person will be killed in a car accident on the way to get milk than killed by a Terrorist in America. Hispanics coming across our border for work are not the terrorist or the enemy. Unfair trade practices initiated by our government are the cause of our jobs leaving and the demise of the Middle Class in America not some Terrorist plot. Political Parties have been using fear in an attempt to maintain power in this country. Americans do the math you are more likely to do yourself bodily harm than to be harmed by a Terrorist. America is a Land of Opportunity and hopes where people live in Freedom. America is not a land were people will be governed by Fear.

shingles1:

What makes you think you are part of the mainstream? Because CBS tells you that you are because you hate Bush?

I think it is funny that you say you are a registered Republican.

I think you really are a closet liberal and lying about it.

Guys you can feel it in the air there is an awakening of the American Electorate and we are the sleeping giant our oppressors have feared all this time. We need to make sure that we take someone to the poles on Election Day. Americans will vote against this administration in so great of numbers that Carl Rove%u2019s election stealing programmers cannot up date the election theft code fast enough to stop the landslide victory.

The White House Press Corps has less brainpower than the average doorknob.

No matter how plainly it is explained, they try to take everthing the wrong way.

They should be known as the pathological liar's club.

Riiight. We don't torture, but it's absolutely necessary for us to be able to include evidence obtained for torture in tribunals.

Are republicans really this stupid to vote for these clowns?

"your comment section has been taken over by a bunch of left wing fanatical Barbera Streisand loving, hippie tree hugging kooks."

You see, for the Kool-Aid drinkers, anybody that disagrees with the Bush Administration in any way is a "liberal" or "tree hugging kook".

What's really funny about this is that I'm a registered Republican. I just didn't drink the Kool-Aid like you bozos did (I'm talking to you One_American and gslinger). You guys are so far out of the mainstream now that you can't even recognize reality any more.

You may not want to say "dictatorial". Sounds like a class for republinazi pedophiles. Lord knows they practice it way too much."

So to show we're actually against torture...we should torture people.

Sadly One_American is probably an American and not the the Al-Queda terrorist he admires so much.

Liberals support torture.

How do I know that?

Just watch them elect Webb in Virginia, who writes stories about pedophilia.

These are the kind of people that liberals love.

Drudgereport.com is reporting it, but you can be sure that CBS and the rest of the liberal media will hide the truth from your eyes.

Just like they did about Bill Clinton raping a woman, but that didn't stop liberals from voting for him, did it?

So, regardless of what you call it, torture, waterboarding, dunking, etc., Cheney and his pals should really being asked is it working?

Not so far if you ask me! Osama has been running free for over 5 years since 9/11/2001.

Is anyone really surprized that National Socialists endorse torture? Why, then, would anyone be shocked about Cheney. The MCA is about as close to Hitler's infamous "commissar order" as anything surfacing in the West since WWII. Communist operatives then were not to be considered any more human or entitled to humane treatment than are "terrorists" today under present law. All the talk from the many brownshirts here ought to give real pause to civilized people that want the United States to stand for something more than our present one party government seems able to provide. We can be brave enough to hope that one day Cheney will be tried for war crimes.
