Abortion IS NOT at right Health Care IS NOT a right!

Abortion is a process it is a choice not a right to end Life....I think they call it murder. Since when is Obamacare a right?.....What will happen when the Supreme Court takes the mandate out of the bill? OR if the whole bill is struck down? Nothing will change except the person who aborts her baby will have to live with her actions and pay for it...You don't want a baby, or can not afford a baby; fine give the baby up for adoption

We appreciate your opinion however, what gives you the right to tell others what to do and how they should conduct their lives?

We need a simple abortion law: If you want an abortion, there should be no obstacle in obtaining one. If you are against abortion, there should be no mandate forcing you to have one.

There are plenty of gay couples out there who would be thrilled to adopt the baby. I'm sure you would have no issue with that.

Wake up and face Facts. The 2012 mid term elections were the will of the people. There was a larger than normal turnout of voters. The voters made a choice and in many races the Republicans won the voters vote it was not even close. The silent majority have spoken and we are not Republicans or Democrats. and on Noverber 6, 2012 we will speak load and clear by our vote. Be scared, very scared if you support Obama.

In the name of Allah I implore all Arab women in the world vote for a government that respects you as a person, as a voice in today's world. Women of Egypt, don't be defeated by misogynistic Muslims whose hatred or dislike of women or girls is manifested by sexual discrimination, denigration of women, violence against women, and sexual objectification of women.

The Muslims in Egypt and the Middle East and the Christians here are cut from the same cloth. They all are backward, don't consider women to be equal and let their actions be controlled by their religious beliefs. Scary that we have such radical religious folks right here among us.

There seems to be a logical inconsistency here. Those who seem to want to try to associate job creation with every possible issue are wanting to do away with jobs associated with providing abortions??

The states could save money by reducing the time their legislators spend in session. They do not seem to concentrate on solving problems, rather on issues like this which in turn cost money defending legal challenges!

Besides, why did the Repubs do nothing about abortion when they had control of the government for six whole years last decade? Because they don't want to lose their blind-lemming hot-button voters.

Personally, I do not believe in abortion. I have never been in the situation where I had to make the choice of having or not having an abortion, therefore, I have not a clue what I would or wouldn't do.
What is worse, an abortion, or throwing the just born child in a dumpster, which is often done.
Some say put them up for adoption, thats great if you can afford it and most of the time the cost is just as bad as the black market!
If you believe, when your time comes, you will have to answer to a higher power.
Most of all, I don't believe the government should stick it nose into our personal business.

Suzamba,

As nygurl says, you are very confused. First of all, instances where a newborn is thrown in a dumpster are so rare that they make national news, usually followed by an arrest. Second, I have never heard of women wanting to put up a child for adoption incurring any expense. The demand for babies in this country - at least for white babies, as racism is very evident in the adoption world - is enormous.

I agree with you that government should not be trying to direct the private lies of women. If you have not paid close attention, you may not have noticed that Republican governments in North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Texas and Arizona (there are more but I don't want to take the time to look them all up) have in this year alone all passed laws restricting the rights of women, not only as to abortion but as to gynecological care generally. Please, rise up, inform your friends. Tell them of the threat to the rights of women that have been slowly and painfully gained over the last hundred years.

GOD DID/DOES NOT DO THAT, CHRIST DID NOT/DOES NOT DO THAT. WHY DO GOVERNMENT REPS WANT TO DO THAT? There are loads of birth control options. There are the implants in one's arm rather than the regular pill. There are sponges and spermicides galore. People can combine methods, like using condoms AND the pill. And, if pregnancy is such a terrible thought, there are vasectomies and tubal ligations. Really, there IS no excuse to think of abortion as a catch-all birth control method. And, I stand by my assertion-- legal manuvering by the states is not going to stop those who seek abortion from getting them. Where there is demand there will be supply. The author is upset about a tempest in a teacup here.

While there are many alternatives that prevent pregnancy, ABORTION is legal whether you or I like it or not.

I don't beleive in Abortion myself - however because it is legal, these pathetic attempts by the 'holier than thou' are outrageous.

ANY standard that is arbitrarily applied -and that includes this hospital admitting status that must be obtained by -Abortion doctors only- is unconstitutional. Unequal protection under the law is where it falls afoul of the constitution. You CANNOT for arbitrary reasons chose to require a doctor to do this 'for health and safety of the woman' when you don't for other doctors who perform outpatient work that is as dangerous or more so to the woman.

I know that many consider abortion murder - I mostly agree with that (although NOT with the militant 'holier than thou' methods of those type). HOWEVER - these pathetic and illegal attempts are a waste of time.
KPeters_from_UK replies:

Again implants COST MONEY!!!! Do you really think a woman can go into any CVS and buy an implant over the counter and insert it into her arm? Are you really really that naive? Do you really think a doctor will perform a vasectomies and tubal ligations on teenagers or single people in their twenties? Seriously...are you stupid?
KPeters_from_UK replies:

Those women who view abortion as a catch-all birth control method is EXTREMELY small. Most abortion are actually performed on women who already have families and then a large portion of those are married.

The author is upset about a tempest in a teacup here? Really? After reading about the over 400 pieces of anti abortions, anti-female health and the other screwed up legislations being place forth by wacko Far Right supporters these things add up, they bit by bit break down what is legal making it harder and harder to something that should be available if needed.

As I wrote earlier; "Most abortion are actually performed on women who already have families and then a large portion of those are married."

I have been proved right:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/47889107/ns/health-womens_health/#.T-LMtRf-_90

While the pregnancy rates are down for teens and women in their 20s, they are up for women in their 30s and 40s, the report found. That is consistent with previous research.
Women between 40 and 44 had a dramatic increase in pregnancy rates of nearly 65 percent from 1990 to 2008, the report said. There were 18.8 pregnancies per 1,000 women in that age group in 2008, compared with 11.4 per 1,000 in 1990.

Silverfaun says:
Hmm. The article was interesting, but written with very inflammatory language. With birth control so cheap and readily available, it really boggles the mind that demand for abortion would be so frantic these days that the latest legal manuverings of the states would make much real difference in the supply of those who perform it.

KPeters_from_UK replies:

Why do men and naive women constantly think that all birth control is 100% effective?

The most effective contraception is the IUD which costs $500 to $800. Plus there are doctor appointments, blood work and what about complications?

The Pill is not the best around and if a woman takes antibiotics then the Pill is no longer effective. The condom is the worst in preventing pregnancies.

Get educated!!!!

Your facts will fall by the wayside ignored by them.

This is why they continue to push illegal and unconstitutional laws into place - the don't give a damm about being legal or following the Constitution. They only care about being able to be holier than thou.

peters - shut up! The men NEVER think about contraception! Just their satisfaction! Your spew is wrong! Where did you get your numbers - a rep? What complications do you get from taking a pill a day. I took them for 5 years and had no problems. I know many others who did the same with no problems. And this was years ago! Stuff is safer now and there are many more choices!

Researchers found that of more than 4,100 women who were seeking birth control, about 45 percent overestimated the effectiveness of the Pill and condoms.
They also had too much faith in hormonal birth control patches, vaginal rings and injections, according to findings reported in the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology."
