We need term limits for congress and campaign reform. The rich, corporations and foreign interests (Israel) drive foreign policy that directly affects all US citizens in a negative way. Obama promised change, but he obviously does not have the power to deliver. The US taxpayers fund a military larger than the next 10 largest countries in the world, but lack the wisdom to keep the peace.

The "crazies"??? Who are we to 'let' them do anything? They are no threat to the US!

Note: Please research just how many conflicts the US has been a part of over the last 50 years or so. We took the mantle as the world police for some unknown reason. We do have elected representatives that spend our hard earned tax dollars with a constituency that allows them too. It is in our power to vote them out and to get a true representation for how we feel. I have served our nation for 29+ years in the service. If we do not want the war then tell your representatives that you don't. This medium can be used to voice ones opinion right? Every elected official has an e-mail to an office and they usually reply fairly quickly. If not, I would be asking if that is a representative I want to represent me. I have returned from Afghanistan this year and I let my elected representatives know some things I think they needed to know. There are a few that will not be receiving an endorsement from me. Once you carry the freedom of the nation on your back literally you get a different perspective of these wars. Those folks that want to fight us are ignorant, petty, and most are just goading this great nation into breaking ourselves financially, spiritually, and any other way they can. Have you seen a foreign power in the last 30+ years who have faced us head on. Iraq's will was smashed in under 100 hours and 80 days of sustained bombing. The garbage in Afghanistan is similar to the Indian Wars of the great westward expansion. They have next to no education and they are worked over by international players who want the US pushed down so that they can do their things. The battles are so overmatched. They have next to nothing and they resort to IEDs because that is the only weapon that can really do any damage. If the US were to invest in those $200 + hobbie flying planes to patrol the roads daily I would think the wounded soldier rates would drop by close to 50%. Every road utilized by military convoys could use the cheap flying eyes every day so the IED planters would have no time to plant them. Then all they would have is VBIEDs. We have a strategy to deal with that so lets give the cheaper off the shelf tools to save the folks. As for Iran. They would not fare any better than IRAQ or Libya etc. Tell them to put up or shut up. Let Israel deal with them, they are in their sandbox over there anyway. We need to back off from the world police program we are on and let the EU have their shot at it for awhile.

Nothing stays in America, Nothing!! We ship everything we can to other countries, Everything. If oil was to be drilled in the States, it to would be shipped out. What a pity, that we can do for others, but yet we can not do for our own. This is one of the reasons that the United States is in the condition that it is. We can't take care of our own. We can send Billions to other countries, but we can't help the people of United States.
We don't need another war, we are just getting away from them. When will the American people matter. Lets face it, we can't even take care of the men and women we send to fight for this country. Now that is a slap in the face!

I believe we must not go to war in any mid-eastern nation or any nation. Too many American lives are sacrificed for the wars instigated by the super wealthy. If you don't know what New World Order means, you'd best research it.

The oil embargo is a minor issue since oil is so easy to sell and so hard to trace. What this article is missing is that the Iranian government is increasingly losing control of the Iranian population. The younger generation are openly hostile and the middle class unsupportive. The Iranian government needs an external threat to justify their hold on power. The result of this need is that they periodically have to ratchet up the threats. The danger is that one day they'll actually do something that will force a US response. Going to war with the US is dumb, but it didn't stop Iraq for walking off that cliff.

You miss one very important fact, the US attacked Iraq, Iraq did nothing to the US! The promotion of fear is common by governments world wide to promote nationalism, even in the US. The Iran 'crisis' is a product of US and Israeli military propaganda.

To krug64; History with Iran did not start in 1979. You may not remember the CIA/Shaw of Iran control of the country resulting in the revolution, but the people of Iran do. Research it. The US in many cases seems to be the victim of it's own actions. The arming and funding of the Muslim 'freedom fighters' in Afghanistan against the Soviets also comes to mind.

We have a fascist nation run by giant corporations who are so greedy they are willing to kill American soldiers and innocent women and children. What the hell is wrong with this country? What happened to our common sense and brains?

Anyone who approves of the evil American greedy rich starting another war should be thrown in prison. Add in that the United States have done three criminal brutal occupations in the last 10 years and are STILL the only nation that ever used nuclear weapons against people and you can see why even considering more crimes is a travesty.
