YES!!
ANY COMPANY GETTING FEDERAL ASSISTANCE WITH THEIR LEFT HAND AND PUTTING A CHUNK IN THEIR POCKET WITH THEIR RIGHT HAND NEEDS TO BE REGULATED!!!!

It's not so much a question of whether the government should be controlling your salary - it's more about how these publicly held corporations "pay" their executives at the expense of the consumer, especially when that company has received billions in government funding! That's the real issue... All the other crap is really not relevant.

Their is one problem with this argument that the government should not interfere in these compensation contracts. These organizations are functionally bankrupt. In a situation like this creditor would cap wages and put the principals on allowances. Also these lenders would control many aspects of the business until these loans were paid in full.

PhilistineTheArtLover said: "The point being that CEOs who have proven a failure to such an extent as to get the entire US economy in trouble should not be getting paid as much as succesful CEOs."

If this were real capitalism, they wouldn't just be out of their perks, they'd be out of their jobs.

Dear Moron-Who-Wrote-This-Drivel,

Read, then post. The government IS NOT deciding what CEO's get paid.

It's crap like this that gives real journalism a bad name.

cs4466-and what truth would that be exactly? If you and ramos1129 do not see what is going on right under our noses then I say "step away from the koolaid vat". And I just love the way you preface another persons position. I see where you and your libtard friends just can't stand another point of view, another take on an issue. Why, I did read where chavez is taking over another TV station.
Take a look at the powers that be in this country. This administration is full of crooks and tax cheats. Your messiah has appointed a 31 year old not yet out of Yale to take over and run GM. Can't help but wonder the pay back on that appointment, Also, show me one thing this government whether it be dem or Republican that can successfully run ANYTHING. You libs constantly talk about neocons lumping everyone with a different point of view into on pile. Your intolerance is incredible. Now, go out and buy a car from government motors and hope that the likes of barney frank and nancy pelosi designed the dam thing,
What we see now is a dangerous trend in this country. While the EU wakes up and moves away from socialism, your thug administration is quickly taking us to socialism.
BTW-any action taken by this thug administration since the messiah's coronation and the outcomes of those actions are on him and him alone.

Cianfrocca has the wrong take on the situation. The Administration is not remotely trying to set the salary for all Americans. It is trying to do so for those companies that receive federal bailout funds. If these firms do ask for and receive these funds, they know that they also have to accept federal restrictions. It will not do to simply give them the funds with no imput as to how these funds are spent.

Exactly. Cianfrocca (author of this article) is yet another bitter neocon attempting to divert us from the truth.

The next step will be to control the executive pay of any subcontractor, to any Government program. Get real, this won't just trickel down it will flood down. The Left agenda is control.
