National Review Online: The Democrat Wraps His Far-Left Agenda In The Veil Of Pragmastism
- I am worried that you may be right Stanley. I worry that our country is going in a different direction and I dont mean for the better. I truthfully pray that I am wrong. The shape this country is in took more then 8 years. One man cannot undo so miraculously as people think is possible. Obama is seeking the highest office in the land for a purpose and its not for what he says. Im afraid sooner or later we will look back and see these as times gone by that were actually the better days.

: African American population has registered to vote in RECORD numbers....
: guess it''''s just because he''''s such a great candidate.
You discount his charisma and the fact that he does appeal to minorities who have been largely ignored all along. If blacks want to register now, responding to his race, that''s not racism. It might be that they''ve finally found a candidate that they believe in. It''s the same when you consider Palin drawing some votes both male and female because she''s either attractive or female. She''s unqualified and no more fit to be president than many other small time politicians. Answer me this: If she wasn''t an attractive female and a great cheerleader with a blonde''s vocabulary, would she have gotten as much attention as she did?
Oh yes. STOP YOUR WHINING!!!! You conservatives said that to the liberals in 2000 and 2004 and now the shoe is on the other foot. YOU LOST THIS ELECTION FAIR AND SQUARE!
Stick this in your pipe and smoke it:

- First let me say, I voted for McCain. But I''m confident that Nobama will win this race. Race being the key word here.
Let''s revisit the scene in A Time to Kill, where he goes through the whole spiel describing what was done to the little girl, then says "now pretend she was white".
Everyone tries to say this "race" isn''t about "race". That is complete and total BS. If Nobama were white, muslim, and a Wright loving WHITE supremacist, this election wouldn''t even be an issue except to skinheads.

- tcandrews62....You are making an assumption that is just not true. Your arguement is that those of us who support women''s rights are out here gleefully celebrating every abortion that takes place. Just not true. The difference is that you live in a fantasy world where if abortions were made illegal they would stop. We live in a world of reality where we realize that, illegal or not, abortions are not going to go away. The obvious answer is to teach kids about the dangers of having unprotected s e x and about the realities of getting pregnant. But, when we try to put programs in place in schools to educate kids you scream to high heaven against it. In your fantasy world all you have to do is never mention it and it will go away. Do you honestly believe that teen agers are NOT going to do it? Your answer is to whine when they end up pregnant and scream against teaching them the truth. Don''t be so quick to paint all of us with the same brush.

- Stanley Kurtz is well known for his exaggerated, unsubstantiated, sweeping and paranoid pronouncements like this one above: "Obama has shamelessly used Alinskyite %u201Cdirect action%u201D to silence and intimidate political foes during the current campaign (a matter well-known to conservatives, yet little noted by the mainstream press)." Really? What, when and how? No evidence. This scurrilous and slanderous fantasy that Obama presents a threat to free speech has been repeated mindlessly by the likes of Sarah Palin and the talking heads of Fox News (where Kurtz is welcome to pronounce on all kinds of matters, unchallenged). It''s clear that Kurtz and his right-wing friends are frightened by any version of events that wasn''t manufactured in their alternate universe, in which inconvenient facts are simply ignored, and convenient ones--no matter how fabricated, selective, or out-of-context--are endlessly repeated. Fox News can live out this fantasy world all it wants--we sure don''t need it in the White House, after 8 ruinous years of it.

- If anything, remember the freedom of choice act that Obama said he would sign. This takes all state rights away in abortion issues and allows the abortion of babies at any time during the pregnancy. This is a sad legacy that will scar our country.
It amazes me that all of you who claim to the scientific model, yet blast religion and God as non-scientific, fail to see a fetus (un-born baby in latin)as a human child. This child, which through sonogram, can be seen moving its toes and fingers and amaizingly looks like a baby! Somehow, you have come to believe that it is a women''s right to kill this child if there is any inconvenience to the childs mother.
Atleast accept the fact that you are indeed for killing this child and not some goo as many of you want to believe.
Unless of course, your scientific model proves somehow that this is not a child with different DNA than the mother! - Reply to this comment
- And what did you do in the sixties Stanley.
Obanma''s radicalism is the exact
reason he IS winning fool.
You have also noticed that
rock music conquered the world.
Wake up the people WANT sixties

Thanks for the laughs this morning-did you originally submit this to The Onion, by any chance? They would love it. I''m just glad that the right-wing has guys like you on their side-keep up the good work! By the way, Goebbels says hello. - Reply to this comment
- My new friend Stanley-
Wow- you have really opened my eyes with your clear, fact-based arguments. Your conclusions are logical in their clarity and depth of understanding of the complex nature of this man''s true, secret and evil plans for world domination.
I would like to offer you my compliments. While reading your insightful satirical piece, I wondered if you had considered submitting it to The Onion or perhaps to SNL or Colbert?
Seriously, based on your eye-opening analysis, I am now one of those who is willing to look beyond the feel-good symbol of our soon-to-be 44th President. In anticipation of that dreadful event, I am planning to lock up my guns and take my Obama bumper sticker off my Volvo. Based of your advocation of ACORN''s having ''nearly wrecked the economy'', (actually, McCain said it better-they have "nearly destroyed the fabric of democracy") I think I''m going to have to move my cash into a mattress-bearing account so those nasty little Chicago radicals can''t find it and redistribute it to each of my neighbors according to their need.
Anyway-thanks for the laughs this morning. I look forward to our country''s descent into a Kurtzian, Marxist-loving, arugula-eating, radicalized, income-redistributed, black-helicopter, Fox-News state.
Keep up the good work! Guys like you make it easy to remember what this democracy is all about. - Reply to this comment
- No matter who wins today, I''''ll say what I told Republicans in ''''92 and Democrats in ''''00. "Get a grip. This will pass. In at most eight years this winner will be gone. We''''ve survived worse."

- The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. but under the name of Liberalism they adopt every fragment of the Socialist program until one day America will be a Socialist Nation without knowing how it ever happened. --Norman Thomas Six time Socialist party presidential Candidate and one of the founders of the ACLU.

- wow, this writer really believe what he''s saying..
He doesn''t realize that one can apply the same skewed principles to HIS party, and come up with a far more nefarious picture.
The National Review is a joke. Self-serving intellectual garbage.. Phrase it right, you can prove any point you want to..
What a cynical bunch of nonsense.
Republicans: you have become truly delusional if you think ACORN is personally responsible for devaluing the credit markets, and not the banks themselves..
Truly truly delsusional.
Good luck everyone, and enjoy the new direction, sense of shared purpose, and renewed focus on the American Dream: I go now to vote, and I am voting for Barack Obama..

- mopar1956, I couldn''t agree more! This election will be this country''s downfall if McSame and his Bimbo Barbie win! They are weak and un-American, calling names instead of discussing issues.

- Its about time a major news station printed the truth.
The sad part is that America would rather elect a president that is not even an American and the only interests he has is making us a weak country.
It is true that over the history of the world that the powerful nations fell from with-in.
We are on our way. This election will be the down fall. - Reply to this comment
