Why is racism only a one way street? If a white person does something to a black person, it is called racism. If a black person does the same thing to a white person, it is not considered racism. WHY?

Actually Obama, in both his book and some of his speeches, has acknowledged that some white complaints have validity. I was in a class once and asked how many white students felt that at some point they had been the victims of anti-white prejudice and a significant majority raised their hands. But the fact remains that whites run into this less frequently (when was the last time a white was pulled over for driving in a black neighborhood) and the impact tends to be substantially less. In my case I got an undeserved low grade in a class from a black TA. Not exactly a life changing event.

According to NRO, Republicans have suddenly abandoned The Southern Strategy. The fact is that every Republican presidential candidate since Reagan, with the possible exception of Dole, have run campaigns using code words and phrases that are designed to appeal to racists. Campaign McCain is using the Phillips/Rove strategy to the point where some supporters are proud of being openly racist.
If the shills at NRO were reporting facts, they would acknowledge and decry the racist tinge of the Republican Southern Strategy.

Man, where do I begin? First, yes it was Dems in the South who were doing most of the lynchings. And when the Democratic Party got behind Civil Rights, those dems broke off and became Dixicrats. That died out, and guess who was more than happy to absorb those lovers of segregation? Our beloved Republican party. Look up the Southern Strategy sometimes and you''ll see why racist dems of yesteryear became the republicans of today. Look at why republicans haven''t cared about Civil rights ever since they saw that they could get disaffected southern whites who would vote against their own self-interest time and time again as long as you protected them from the scourge of the colored man. Oh, and the reason Obama identifies himself as Black is because in this country, if you''re mixed, you''re considered black. Don''t get mad causee your ancestors made this rule up and we kept it. McCains'' surrogates have said that Obama is too "different", Pat Buchanon said that the McCain team told him they have to paint Obama as "exotic". What the hell does that mean? That''s just stupid. Talking about his policies, and votes and his past associations has never gotten a cry of racism. "Kill him" at a rally should be unacceptable regardless of what race you are, but for the Right, it''s business as usual.

Oh, this really a good one. The racist party claiming they are not racist. If it walks lie a duck, . . . you know the rest of it.

McCains only hope to win is to get the racist, bigoted redneck crowd to vote for him, and he knows it.

There are countless emails out there claiming that Obama is a Muslim, a terrorist, that he hates America, that his wife hates America, and oh yes, did you know that he is black?

All of these dirty, despicable campaign tactics are either sponsored by or approved by McCain and the RNC.

hopeful08: You forget that Palin broke the glass ceiling in a state where women are dramatically in short supply... You and many on the left side of the aisle and even many in the middle and right, are believing a lawyer, a profession that bases its trade on the liberal bending of the truth until reasonable doubt can be raised on the issue at hand. Of course Obama sounds credible, so go ahead and check his record... It will open your eyes!!!

Its really pretty simple. Ms. Palin only apparent talent is to string together a bunch of phrases and half truths that incite hatred of the worst kind. Why else would even fringe people at her rallies feel comfortable saying "kill him" and "terrorist" out loud. She is certainly more qualified than some of lipstick wearing commentators on Faux news, but not to lead the country.

It is unfortunate that the election has become racially charged, since after all Senator Obama is half white/half black. But I seem to recall that it was the left that first interjected the issue of race into this campaign. Conservatives will vote for anyone who shares their beliefs, and conservative blacks I think have done quite well. We just need more of them to run for office.

kimmovement,

What is your problem? Your man is miles ahead in the opinion polls. If he loses now, it would be the biggest upset of all time. Then it will be my turn to be concerned that he does not turn over America''s sovereignty to the UN and the EU.

$7-$10 a gallon gasoline, a doubling of electricity prices, an increase in taxes, unemployment, inflation and interest rates could all be on the cards.
