National Review: An effective, Dishonest Speech
- McCainiacs - Wasn''t it your God people who were praying for it to rain in Denver last week...and now they have their answer - Katrina''s big brother Gustav is bearing down the same way during your Republican sham convention? How is it that the religious in Europe seek greater social services to protect the children that ARE born and the "religious" in your party only seek to protect them to birth and could give a crud beyond the womb? How many of those %u201Cright-to-lifers%u201D have taken in minority foster children from our ghettos? How many of them would vote for a tax hike to pay for pre-and post natal care for all those aborted fetuses?
McCainiacs- remember, guns don%u2019t kill people, people with guns kill people and children with guns kill people, and children (over 100,000 kids killed since 1979, now that%u2019s pro-life!), and children with guns kill each other, and children with guns kill themselves, and people with guns in their homes are far more likely to die from gun violence than those who don%u2019t... - Reply to this comment
- Hypocrite.
You NRO neo-cons are the ones who have been hiding your real evil intentions for the last eight years. You are merchants of death around the world, more than happy to kill hundreds of thousands if you feel it promotes your Agenda or lines your pockets.
You have a hell of a nerve juding anyone else''s authenticity when you, and your garbage rag, represent the people and ideas that lied us into war, brought the US economy down, sold our nation to the Chinese, promoted the mortgage crisis and let 1600 people die in Katrina of neglect solely because they were African-American.
How dare you judge anyone''s bona-fides when you are the lance-point of the worst lies ever promulgated on the American people and the world.
I am comforted in my faith that there is a special circle in hell reserved for your ilk - the hate-mongering, lying killers who hide behind "journalistic" credentials to perform their evil. - Reply to this comment

- Doctor-o,
You have a short memory, It has ALWAYS been the so called liberal wing of the democratic party that has increased the size and scope of governemtn.
Republican programs generally reduce regulations and give you more choices. Obama''s programs will leave you with few to NO choices about how to run your life, will overburden you with taxes, and will cost millions of jobs as small and medium business begin to feel the cruch of his short sighted plans.
There is one industry that will greatly benefit if they see an Obama presidency ... apartment builders and management firms. Apartment occupancy will skyrocket as people lose the ability to buy homes of their owns as their income is leeched away by tazes and their jobs are destroyed by over taxation and over regulation of their employers. - Reply to this comment
- Kitty,
You sound just like one of the Michael Moorons. ROFL
Your kind really doesn''t have one clue about what''s happened over the last 10 years, do you? - Reply to this comment
- Ramesh Ponnaru you yellow bellied POS ---why don''t you write about George W Bush''s miserable, traitorous, treasonous, murderous years as the President? And you voted for him. Nothing like writing *** about another person to take the heat off the *** you''ve voted into office.

- And by the way, what is with this "halo" picture. Altho CBS published an accurate opinion piece, its pretty obvious that they tried to nullify its impact with this shameless deification of Obama.

- It''s about time that a news outlet took off the rose colored glasses and published the truth about Obama.
This great ''uniter'' has never worked across the aisle on any meaningful legislation, nor has he ever sponsored any. McCain has done BOTH, many times.
Obama, the model of ''integrity'', stole his first elected office by having his campian staff invalidate the petitions of ALL the other candidate, included the well liked and respected incumbant, at the exact moment in time that left it too late for them to recover and either defend or recover missing numbers on the petitions. (Note: Obama''s could have also been successfully challenged, but his competitors for the office were too principled to use such dirty politics to circumvent the will of the voters).
This ''bridge to the world'' would try to pacify enemies who will use the extra time to continue to work against us. Europe learned a lesson by making this mistake with Hitler, Obama is doomed to repeat it if we are naive enough to give him a chance.
His taxes and socilized medice will destroy our economy even worse than the template for his naive policies, Jimmy Carter. If you are too young to remember, Carter gave us double digit inflation, almost double digit unemployment, and a SEVENTEEN PERCENT prime interest rate. If Obama''s economy is put into place, Carter''s years will seem like the ''good old days''. - Reply to this comment
- Lets vote Republican where we can increase the size, scope and intrusive nature of the federal government while at the same time run up enormous deficits due to egregious military spending that goes on and on and on. While were at it lets make it socially and legally acceptable to torture people. Oh and don''t forget denying and censoring all manner of scientific evidence that doesn''t corroborate what we choose to believe (global warming among countless other issues). Don''t worry we will never spend a dime to benefit the American people. That would be irresponsible.
Cut taxes - great idea; we can afford it.
Yeah that makes sense. - Reply to this comment
- Who is Palin? What an insult to our country that we promote the idea that someone with no more experience than she has can take over the presidency of the country. Maybe she could, maybe she couldn''t.
Obama may not have a ton of "executive" experience, but he sure managed to organize and run a campaign.
That took a lot of knowledge of people and how to effective use their talents. That what a president essentially does.
Bush was very poor at this. Remember how he "looked in Putin''s eyes and saw his soul and how it was good?"
Tell that to the people of the country of Georgia.
I have read two books on his life. I''ll gamble with him. - Reply to this comment
