*BTW: The parallels between these three are overwhelming - e.g. both Hilton and Spears have created as much useful legislation as hussein; all three have the same level of foreign policy expertise; they are equally shallow and self-absorbed; they are equally experienced expert-level drug users; and so on, and so on, ad nauseam.*

Your argument would have been so much more effective if you didn''t try to compare Obama to Hilton or Spears; it took me all of 2 minutes using Google to find the political items Obama has worked on.

Show the rest of us the political items Spears or Hilton has worked on.

You will be very hard pressed.

This article is an outstanding example of the Rovian tactic of overwhelming your opponent with lies and distortions, in order to place him on the defense. Refuting all of the garbage contained herein would require almost as much space as the article itself, and would indeed give the impression that a defensive posture had been taken.

Thankfully, it is unnecessary to do so, since 99+% of the people who read the NRO are already right wing brainwashed nuts.

H. Res. 6578, the Consumer Energy Supply Act of 2008. The measure received strong majority support in a House vote today of 268 to 157, but failed to receive the two-thirds necessary to pass under suspension of the rules. All Democrats present voted for the measure, while 157 Republicans voted against it. The measure would direct the release of a small amount of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, bringing down gas prices and sending a strong message to energy speculators.

"The American people have paid for more than 700 million barrels of oil to be held in this government stockpile. At significant taxpayer expense, the SPR is currently 97 percent full - its highest level ever.

You can see the names of the 157 Republicans who voted to keep the price of gas high at this link:

I give CBS points for cojonoes. After Katie Couric saved McCain''s hyde and replaced a mistake with a
McCain attack on Obama''s patriotism you lost me.

To now run a National Review article on your masthead that the media is really for Obama is completely laughable.

As just one example, if it were Obama who made the erroneous comment about an Iraq-Pakistan border we''d still be hearing about it today.

I no longer trust the msm to do the right thing.

Perhaps CBS News, that vaunted bastion of the "liberal MSM", would care to explain why it is shilling for the rightwing rag founded by Bill Buckley.

At the very least, in a hatchet job case like this, you ought to make it much clearer than having the large NRO logo and the words:National Review under the article title, as to the origin of the piece.

I personally have no problem reading negative TRUTHS about Obama. To continue the dishonest pretense, however, that Obama''s press coverage is more positive than negative and to ignore the free ride that McCain continues to get is patently absurd.

CBS News sold out long before it dumped Dan Rather. It is nothing but another corporate profit center that does not give a blue dart about what is important to the people of this nation.

===The ALL-HUSSEIN, ALL-THE-TIME propaganda is, of course, a feeble attempt to create the impression that it is a one-person contest.===

As usual, neocons need an excuse for why they fail, so they blame the media for covering Obama. The truth is, Obama gets the same coverage as any presidetial candidate would get.

Conservative are the biggest crybabies on the planet. Sad.

Whether you are a Democrat or a Republican, you might enjoy reading
this...''Walking Eagle'' Senator BARACK OBAMA was invited to address a
major gathering of the American Indian Nation two weeks ago in
upstate New York.
HE spoke for almost an hour on HIS future plans for increasing every
Native American''s present standard of living, should HE one day
become the President. HE referred to his career as a Senator, how he
had signed ''YES'' for every Indian issue that came to his desk for
approval. Although the Senator was vague on the details of his plan,
he seemed most enthusiastic about his future ideas for helping his
''red sisters and brothers''..
At the conclusion of his speech, the Tribes presented the Senator
with a plaque inscribed with his new Indian name - Walking Eagle.
The proud Senator then departed in his motorcade, waving to the
crowds.
A news reporter later inquired to the group of chiefs of how they
came to select the new name given to the Senator. They explained
that Walking Eagle is the name given to a bird so full of s**t it
can no longer fly.

Looks like the halo on The One is starting to show more than a little bit of tarnish.

Actually RW conspirator, McCain has a lot more in common with Paris Hilton than does Obama. Just as Paris can thank her parents for her celebrity, McCain may not have even been accepted by any college, much less Annapolis, had it not been for his family history. Then he dumped his old wife for the rich new one with all the money and connections that launched his career in politics.
