- John McCain is 71. If elected, he will work until he is 75. Most young voters are being taught the value of saving for their retirement, so they wont have to work when they are 71.
Voters often ask theirself, "What can you count on a 74 year old man to do when times are tough?". Many have relatives who require repeating facts and events to them several times. Many have stubborn minded elderly relatives, who repeat theirself. If my family was about to become homeless, starving or unclothed, what kind of hope exists in 74 year old leader?
In the 80''s, the USA saw Ronald Reagan fail to recall a rehearsed answer to a question for the Poindexter, Oliver North hearings. He was unfit for realtime questioning and could only answer questions staged for videotape camera. In realtime, Reagan''s chief advisor, his wife Nancy, simply fed him words to simple answers for simple questions about problems with, "We are doing the best we can".
Some elderly are healthy and extraordinary, but most only exhibit that without daily pressures of other people''s responsibility on their shoulders.
John McCain is a fine and extraordinary gentleman. Barack Obama is also a fine and extraordinary gentleman. Both will fumble in the next 85 days until election day. What will be the cause of their fumbling? Will it be age? - Reply to this comment
- THOSE PEOPLE WHO CAME OF VOTING AGE IN THE LAST 8 YEARS HAVE SEEN THE HORRORS OF REPUBLICAN CONTROL!
THAT IS THE REAL PROBLEM IT IS NOT SO MUCH AN AGE ISSUE BUT A CLEARING OF THE AMERICAN MIND SET!
REPUBLICANS ARE EXPOSED FOR WHAT THEY ARE AN AMERICA KNOWS IT! - Reply to this comment
- ''Can McCain Narrow The Youth Gap?''
Not highly freakin'' likely--the first sentence of this article says it all.
I can''t imagine hiring anyone for a professional position in this day and age who has NO idea of how to use a computer...but that especially goes for the position of POTUS! - Reply to this comment

H. Res. 6578, the Consumer Energy Supply Act of 2008. The measure received strong majority support in a House vote today of 268 to 157, but failed to receive the two-thirds necessary to pass under suspension of the rules. All Democrats present voted for the measure, while 157 Republicans voted against it. The measure would direct the release of a small amount of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, bringing down gas prices and sending a strong message to energy speculators.
"The American people have paid for more than 700 million barrels of oil to be held in this government stockpile. At significant taxpayer expense, the SPR is currently 97 percent full - its highest level ever.
You can see the names of the 157 Republicans who voted to keep the price of gas high at this link:

- McCain announced he is winning votes in the youth of America. Of course, he meant in the 60 to 75 year-old demographic, youngsters to him

- Can McCain Narrow The Youth Gap?
McCain doesn`t like computers, doesn`t use computers, wouldn`t recognize the Internet if it sat down next to him and smacked him upside his head! Before McCain can narrow the youth gap he needs to get connected, all the youth are wired and connected, McCain missed the boat and it`s too late in the Internet game to catch up before the Voting starts! McCain is so late he`s absent! Obama is wayyyyy ahead in the Internet game, big time! Dinosaur McCain never even had the 2 cans connected with the string playing walkie talkie as a kid, the tin can wasn`t even invented yet, he missed that too! lol - Reply to this comment
- We''''ll all be lucky if our youth don''''t rise up and lynch us.

- It won''t make any good difference and may actually do some harm to the reps if they embark on a no holds bar festival of dirty campaigning.
The youth of this country is not the same as it was even 20 years ago. These kids ar multi-racial teachers, friends. They have grown up with a much more diverse background, both culturally and physically. Before another generation, we will be a 2 language country.
The reps are going to have to start all over from the bottom and build their party up to accept and meld with the America of today and tomorrow. Reagan is dead and so is the old rep party.
They just don''t accept it yet. When Obama and the dems clean up this fall, they will. - Reply to this comment

- The GOP had a selection of canadates and picked McCain. Ron Paul was too far out for them but even now is popular with millions of people.
It''s not McCain''s age so much as his unwillingness to learn about what he''s talking about. Like the border between Iraq and Pakistan. The world calls that "border" Iran. Not just not understanding basic computers, but not wanting to. This isn''t a man open to thinking outside his very small box. - Reply to this comment
- John McShame IS NOT A WAR HERO, JUST BECAUSE HE SURVIVED HIS CAPTIVITY.
DID HE SAVE ANYBODY ELSE? NO.
What kind of a "War Hero" divorces his first wife because she was in a bad car accident while he was a POW? - Reply to this comment
- Yeah, He can get on the Googles, you know on that series of tubes, the internet and search for "some ho''s". Then he can listen to some gangsta rap and do some break dancing.

- And I believe, like Republicans have preached for 30 years, that Global Warming is an enviro-nazi ploy for world domination. And besides, if it turns out to be real, and as bad as some scientists now predict it''ll be, we''ll all be retired and living in Thailand by then. Only the youth will have to dig themselves out of that pile of Republican sh*t. Oh, wait. Did you say ''youth vote''? Aw, nuts!

- Any Republican would be doing just as good as the NOminee, the only people that want McCain are people who are voting against Obama. McCain has no excitement to his campaign. Huckabee had excitement, Romney had excitement. McCain does not inspire excitement, I read about a Possible DUI he had gotten a few years ago and it seems that has gotten swept under the rug some how too. I think the story was at http://www.mccanes.com or http://duihelpguide.com It was at one of those sites. Im going to stay home this
