A final Hansonism (and its rebuttal):"American immigration policies are humane " NOT if you''re American! The ''free markets'' Hanson loves includes free labor markets so he can hire immigrants to clean his bathroom for pennies. Much of W Europe discourages immigration because it realizes its unfair to people who already live in the country. But Hanson can''t fill this country with immigrants fast enough, as long as they live outside his gated community.

Liberals: Love the immigrant, hate the immigration!
Conservatives: Just the opposite!

What I love about Hanson is he is SOOO worried about an Obama Presidency. And you can tell: its about race and class.

Hansonisms and their rebuttal: "Take away all particular national identity and we are empty shells mouthing mere platitudes" Speak for yourself, Hanson. Anyone who fills his ''empty shell'' with neocon nationalism is a potential corporate tool, and Hanson is exhibit A. Some of us find being human quite filling enough, but for that you need an expansive personality like Obamas.

"When the Soviet Union collapsed, there was no danger to the world from American nuclear weapons -while the inverse would not have been true" Yet much of Asia fell to Red Chinese and Red Vietnamese. Did anything happen? Oh yeah: they embraced capitalism and prospered. Lets call Hanson''s claim the ''reverse Domino theory'', just as invalid as the original one.

"I would have preferred Sen. Obama of mixed ancestry to have begun with ''In the recent tradition of African-American Secretaries of State Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice,'' " Obama''s reference was to Kennedy and his speech. Why would Obama plug the Bush administration?

Republicans: The party that wouldn''t even exist at all anymore except for their platform of hating gay people and anyone who doesn''t subscribe to their particular brand of religion. These days, being a "conservative" has nothing to do with being conservative fiscally, it just means you hate minorities, love war, fetuses (until they are born) and have no sense of fiscal responsibility whatsoever. The last eight years have proven that beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Over SIX years of war. Civil rights breached by our commander in chief. Internationally recognized torture sanctioned by the White House. Two invaded and currently occupied countries. Hundreds of thousands dead, including OVER 4500 American soldiers. Billions of our tax dollars spent, and yes, are still being spent to this very moment.

Iraq, which had NOTHING to do with 9/11, is now an occupied country which will implode when we get out of it, whether that happens one, two, ten or five hundred years from now. A society that CHOOSES to be ruled by religion cannot become a democracy; it can only be a theocracy with voting cards.

Bin Laden still lives. The mastermind of 9/11 still walks free.

The one, simple word for this is: failure. No amount of deception, indignation or wailing by republicons can change these facts.

Failure of Bush. Failure of Cheney. Failure of the republicans.

Time for a change.
