The New Republic: Ariz. Senator Would At Least Put An End To The Politics Of Karl Rove
- I totally disagree. McCain will have the Supreme Court Justice appointments to outlaw abortion. He will pursue the same "trickle down" economic policy--lower taxes on the wealthy so their prosperity will trickle down to us lower orders. And he wants to stay in Iraq for a 100 years. He disagrees with Bush on a few things, agrees with him on Bush''s major policies, another 4-8 years of running up trillion dollar debts to China to finance Iraq will doom the US as a major world power. Electing McCain will be DISASTER.

- The the best McCain can offer to help us choose him is it would be the end of KKKarl Rove? i''m falling on the floor laughing...
McCain = McBush = McSame.
I''m looking forward to both! No 3rd Bush term and no more KKKarl Rove''s devestating influence influence on US politics. - Reply to this comment
- The last thing we need is another term of McBush, I''m a conservative, but he won''t get my vote. The Republicans have their head in the sand, have refused to listen to the American public on most issues and they need to loose...then maybe they will take their head out of the sand..regroup and maybe they will get their principles back...until then they won''t get my vote or any contributions from me.

- McCain is likeable until you get to know his voting record for the last 30 years. Add in his flip flopping over 60 times now on just about every issue and what you got is a disaster just waiting to happen. McCain has no ecomonic policy, his energy gimmicks are meant to throw people a bone when we should be realizing it is time to get serious about energy before it is too late, his record on issues from education, torture, vets, women, mass transit, taxes, and this war are deplorable. About the only thing he evens comes close to getting right is this surge or escalation of the Iraq war but even that is questionable. We also paid off the Sunnis and the Maudi army decided to stand down for now which played a big part in the decrease in violence. I see nothing about McCain including when you pull back the curtain and see the slew of lobbyists lining up to get their turn at the trough if they can get McCain elected. Meanwhile the rest of us will be stuck just like we have been for the last 8 years with nothing while these cronies continue to rape the treasury and this country. Now he even has the Rove people running his campaign so I expect to see the usual lies and distortions like we did in 2000, 2004, and in this article this guy just wrote. I say no way to McCain.

- The article overlooks an important point. This country has suffered severe damage in many ways from the last eight years of the Bush administration. The next president has to repair this destruction, an amount of damage both foreign and domestic that can only be done with full cooperation of Congress. Thats why the only rational choice for America is Obama. He has the brains and he is capable of generating the support among the people to return us to our former position in the world.

- I could imagine voting for McCain if he was running as other than a Republican. I think the Republicans are sort of a cancer on society that needs to be expunged. They have given up any pretense to sanity and logic and only care about political survival. The values they represent are not the ones that make America great but those that undermine our political system and destroy our economy.
My vote goes to Obama and to McCain, this isn''t personal. - Reply to this comment

Oh, I''m sure that the Republicans will give Obama as much support as the Democrats gave Bush. And seriously, what do you base your assumption on that Obama has what it takes to get the job done. What accomplishments point to that conclusion? - Reply to this comment
- The current spend happy dem congress is running our country into a rut ! Now they want to bail out the greedy people that got us in this mess.

- Obama will owe much to that spend happy dem congress. I don''t think he will be able to say no to them when it comes to spending.
They all want their special projects funded and the country is broke.
Mc Cain is our only hope to get this spending under control. - Reply to this comment
