New Republic: Speech On Race Struck The Right Tone But May Not Please All
- Historic speach...Ridiculous!! A patriot, and a man who would be President, stands up for his country when someone damns it, he doesn''''t make excuses for it!
NO!! An American stands up for the rights of individuals to speak their minds, even if the comments are ignorant or misguided.......... - Reply to this comment
- Hey terrorislamf,
The United States had Saddam Hussein hung, after an unjust invasion. What does this have to do with Barrack Obama.
Ohhhh I get it, you are trying to create a false correlation between Barrack and Saddam. Keep up the fearmongering%u2026%u2026yea!
Nice one Rove......or is it Libby who I''m commenting to?

- The problem is not about gender or race. It is about brain-dead Hillary''s ill being too similar to Kim Jong-ill: experienced, clever, and very driven but missing a soul.
She who lies for us will lie against us! - Reply to this comment
- Democrats ROCK!!!!!!!!!!
A historic day for Democrats!
Obama made an amazing speech! I have never heard any politician speak so candidly and clearly about ANY topic, much less the state of racism in America.
MAJOR APLAUSE FOR BARRAK OBAMA!!
I like how eloquently Hillary Clinton commented and plugged him for his speech. She knows Barrack summed up the topic of racism so well, that she let it stand as is.
Very graceful of her!
I''d love to see a Republican address this subject in such a direct and intelligent way. - Reply to this comment
- What brothers me is the white man have inflicted more pain, seperation, and racism on many other ethnic groups in the USA and elsewhere for that matter. But when they hear someone blasting off on the white man many times in anger, they always dismiss it as racism towards themselves. Most problems that occur in the world the white man created them.Your not smarter just better liars and deceivers of the world.

- From ABC and I agree: Buried in his eloquent, highly praised speech on America''s racial divide, Sen. Barack Obama contradicted more than a year of denials and spin from him and his staff about his knowledge of Rev. Jeremiah Wright''s controversial sermons. Similarly, Obama also has only recently given a much fuller accounting of his relationship with indicted political fixer Antoin "Tony" Rezko, a longtime friend, who his campaign once described as just one of "thousands of donors."

- Whoa, need to step back a little since some bloggers here are frothing at the mouth now that they feel comfortable to unburden themselves of civility, facts and a semblence of race neutrality. Rev Wright made regrettable remarks in the heat of some selected sermons. We only know about these 2 diecey ones; no others. Some seem overeager to sell Senator Obama down the river at the first sign of a perceived stumble.
I take his speech at face value and proceeded to donate what I could to his esteemed campaign via his website. - Reply to this comment
- Enough already.
We all know that Obama was a community organizer in a poor black community who joined the neighborhood Church. If he was going to be effective, in helping improve the conditions that led to the anger in the community, he had to join their church.
Enough said. Obama is the smartest, most dignified, most powerful candidate we have seen in memory.
Let''s get on with the discussion of the issues facing the country. - Reply to this comment
