Comments on: Romney Is McCain's Best VP Option
Weekly Standard: Former Rival Has Superior Ratio Of Virtues To Drawbacks Over Other Choices
- Three little words (well, 2 initials and a name anyway) I hope McCain reads as well. They are:
J.C. Watts
Game over. Republicans win. Socialism loses ground for another decade.
Nuff said. - Reply to this comment
- Fred Barnes and other MSM tried and failed to push Romney on us for President. It didn''t work then and I hope it don''t work now.

- To LoveItaly: Interesting that you simply believe what you read. If you really wanted the truth you would dig a bit deeper, but those of you who want to make a case against Romney can find supporting evidence - which has usually been taken out of context. I''ll just address one of the issues as I have previously talked about the others. Mitt Romney established a blind selection process to appoint judges; no names, race, gender or political affiliations were included in the nominee''s application. It turned out that many of his judicial nominees were in fact "liberal", but he didn''t know that when making the selections and considering that the majority of the state''s judiciary is liberal, the numbers were stacked against him to begin with. His decisions were based purely upon creditials, history and experience. Seems that''s the way it should be. And we should fault him for that?

- (LoveAmerica) I can''t help but find hypocrisy when you state that hosers22 is "hateful and judgmental". The statement seems to be a self description when applied to hosers22s relatively mild comment. Ignorance is not "hateful and judgmental". And I''m sure as a person he is not ignorant, even though on some subjects he probably is. To state truthfully we all are, and most of us try and apply understanding where we have none. It is not bad, just human.

- To Hosers22, Like so many ignorant people, you cannot argue intelligently on issues, history, or philosophy... so instead you degenerate into name-calling and ad-hominem attacks. What a waste of time. You fight like a liberal.
Each time I''ve posted a comment, I have only hit the "publish" button once. Problems with the website are not a reflection on anyone''s intelligence, but your hateful and judgmental, stereotyping comments are a resounding indication of your character...as is the screen name you chose for yourself.
BTW, I am not a Baptist, I live in the northeast, graduated summa *** laude from university, have a master''s degree in the social sciences, have lived in 3 countries, visited 14 other nations, traveled to 21 other U.S. states, and was tested twice during school-age years and found to have an IQ of 149 - 151. I was listed in "Who''s Who Among Young American Women" back in the day when I didn''t need reading glasses.
And I might add that Gov. Mike Huckabee graduated with honors from a 4-year college after just two and a half years, because his parents couldn''t afford the tuition. - Reply to this comment
- (LoveItaly) Why do you leave out the part of his quote where he said (to paraphrase) he is AGAINST abortion, but he believed in the peoples right to choose? You seem to know enough to know he said that too...

- Does anyone find it interesting that when Mitt''s father ran for POTUS, his religion was NOT an issue, yet 40 years later, it is? How is it that our country, which is based upon religious freedom, has regressed to the point that Mitt Romney''s religion is a topic of discussion? And what does that say about the so-called Christians who are passing judgment? I have a friend who was "born again" (no offense to others who have been as well - I generally think it''s a good thing) who told me, without question, that Mother Teresa would not be allowed into heaven because she had not been "born again" in the eyes of his church. Hmm. That seems somewhat strange to me. But you know what, I still love my friend even though I disagree with him on this issue. It''s what he believes and he''s a great guy, good father and a wonderful, loyal husband. How about practicing what you preach and exercising a little religious tolerance?

- In "open" letter (6/2006) to Chairman/Idaho Republican Party, Romney was mentioned-he was to be a featured speaker @ the 2006 Repub. St.convention. Idaho Values Alliance researched Romney''s background-found it "wildly out of alignment with the party''s own platform". RESEARCH FOUND that he believed in legal recognition of gay/lesbian relationships "domestic partnership status should be recognized" & "I will support and endorse efforts to provide..domestic partnership benefits to gay/lesbian couples". -2002-Romney refused to support proposed "Protection of Marriage" amendment to Mass. constitution. Since then-CHANGED HIS MIND. Pledged "would protect the current pro-choice status quo in Mass. No law would change. The choice to have an abortion is a deeply personal one. Women should be free to choose based on their own beliefs, not the government''s". In debate with famous Ted Kennedy Romney said,"I believe that abortion should be safe/ legal".Of Roe v. Wade "We should sustain and support it". When accused of being "pro-life"-''02 gubernatorial race- Planned Parenthood and NARAL launched a vigorous defense of his PRO-CHOICE view. 2006-Romney proposed doubling funding for Governor''s Commission on Gay/Lesbian Youth.Romney has appointed left-leaning judges.-''05-AP article stated Romney,"has leaned more left when filling judicial vacancies-including two gay lawyers who supported expanding same-*** rights." NIX to Romney as a believable, conservative V.P!!!

- (hosers22) The Book of Abraham is not in the Book of Mormon since the book of mormon was believed to have been many books compiled by a man in America centuries before Joseph Smith, named Mormon. While the book of abraham was, believed by mormons, to have been found in a (whatever those mummy coffin things are called, I''m tired, hehe) and translated by Joseph Smith. So it''s technically not IN the book of mormon, but often included between the same covers WITH the book of mormon. (and even sometimes they come call together with the bible also) The copy the missionaries leave does not contain the book of abraham or the book of moses (a retranslation by Smith of Genesis).
The "PUBLISH" button doesn''t work well in my browser either, I''ve accidentally hit it a couple times before it posted. - Reply to this comment
