I wonder about the title of this piece: did someone forget that Thompson actually has a potentially fatal health condition?

Another hit-job by little Mikey, See BS is a freakin joke. It''s unbelievable the MSM''s hatred towards conservatives, especially the one TRUE CONSERVATIVE FRED THOMPSON. I''ve got a feeling there are going to be a lot people eating their own *** when FRED does very well come Thursday. GO FRED!!!

Conservatism isn%u2019t soft on immigration. Conservatism does not promote an ever-expanding nanny-statism. Conservatism is not weak on our national defense. Conservatism respects the 10th amendment and state%u2019s rights. Conservatism seeks lower taxes AND lower spending. Conservatism does not believe the expansion of the welfare state is compassionate - to the contrary, the manner in which it creates dependency and disincentivizes productive behavior is a grave disservice to those on the receiving end.

Almost all of the candidates in the Republican primary this year fall short of conservative ideals, in one area or another.

Except for one, and that man is Fred Thompson. (Well, OK, maybe two - but Duncan Hunter just isn%u2019t doing it for me%u2026.)

Whether he can prevail against the media bias and style over substance that rules the campaign trail is yet to be seen. But that does not make his message any less valid, and true conservatives %u201Csettle%u201D for another candidate in the primaries and caucuses at their own peril.

I am putting my faith in the Iowa electorate to see past liberal hit pieces against the best conservative candidate running.

"Thompson''s (quite defensible) argument that he''s the only Republican candidate who has been a consistent social and economic conservative"

It''s only defensible if Ron Paul wasn''t in the race. Ron Paul has the best record of upholding and defending the Constitution of any of the candidates.

Brief Overview of Congressman Paul%u2019s Record:

He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.

He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.

He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.

Congressman Paul introduces numerous pieces of substantive legislation each year, probably more than any single member of Congress.

Ron Paul: The people voted with their wallets.

Fred''s a CFR tool and a RINO. His record on the 2d Amendment is middling, and he had a hand in the odious McCain-Feingold act. No, thank you.

This is just more of See BS doing their best to tank Thompson, who can beat Hillary, while promoting Ron Paul and Huckabee who can''''t." Posted by vbnvbnvbn at 02:12 PM : Dec 31, 2007

CBS isn''t tanking Thompson, Thompson is tanking Thompson. His heart isn''t in the race. Why blame CBS for Thompson''s lasse-faire attitude about his own presidential campaign? He is squandering what could have been a good run.

The dollar slid across the board on Friday as data showing a 9 percent decline in sales of new U.S. homes last month heightened concern about the economy, putting the greenback on track for its worst week in more than a year.
The housing report, which was weaker than economists had expected, also bolstered the case for more Federal Reserve interest rate cuts in 2008. Earlier this week, the S&P/Case-Shiller index showed a record decline in U.S. home prices in October.

This is what''s happening to YOUR house. All the ''money'' and ''equity'' you thought you had saved - eliminated! The equity through falling house prices - and the money because we are DEBASING OUR CURRENCY. That low fed rate you''re reading about gets created by printing money and lending it to people. With more money, the money YOU have is worth LESS. So your money is worth less and your property is worth less - where can you turn to keep ahead of inflation? I think you BETTER turn to Dr. Paul. He''s the ONLY one running that has a HOPE of being able to deal with this.

You and CBS are digging their own professional grave...I''ld offer you a bigger shovel but, you''re doing just fine with the spatula you''re using.

After this, I fully expect a Fred Thompson 2nd place showing, if not an outright first.

I can always tell which way the political wind is blowing just by seeing how hard CBS tries to make it seem like it''s not blowing that way at all.
