National Review Online: GOP Long-Shot Highly Admired By His Fans, But Has Inconsistent Principles
- Figures a neocon rag like NRO would have this opinion about Ron Paul and Michael Medved was once a Democrat remember. Paul has remained true to his values and principles. They seem to be a bit concerned with Ron Paul''s success. Interesting. Go Ron Paul getting this kind of press from NRO is a good thing.

- Actually, Paul should go back to being an OB/GYN, so he can "look up" old girlfriends. But I digress...

- Just another hatchet job by the neo-cons. The writer can only find 4 points to disagree with the good doctor on. And those points are bogus ones at that. The big GOP bosses must be getting scared, and with good reason. Ron Paul just may win in NH.

- I''d suggest terming the Paul spammers "wishful thinkers" but for the fact that thinking doesn''t seem to be much in evidence in their offerings.
Rudy654 @ 1:50 AM was on target. The "short" spammers are doing nothing more than getting his name in front of us (and theirs, of course), and those that have more than one repetitive sentence to offer are simply deluded.
Get a life! The American political kitchen may not be the most spotless in the world, but we certainly don''t deserve a bunch of cockroaches skittering around every time someone turns on the light such as Mona Charen did in this article. - Reply to this comment

I never heard of you before, but that''s hardly the issue here (as you are not my life''s work) ...
You also said,
"I speak the truth, and I say our Nation and it''''s Constitution, are in dire peril
of being destroyed for all time, and very soon now, we''''ll all be faced with very hard choices, like maybe having to take up arms against the Fascists which control the Courts, Military, and Police."
And this makes you a Ron Paul droid; not only is that his b*llsh*t, but also it was clearly cut-and-pasted into the "comments" section ... - Reply to this comment
- Supporters say a lot about a cause - Ron Paul''s supporters speak volumes about him.
He''s just another Nader - good bumper stickers, but lousy when you take a real look at him. - Reply to this comment
- nadeau4201 (who is obviously part of the Sh*tProphet spammers, as it is the same message) said,
"I for one am tired of paying for bridges to nowhere, welfare, politicians flying around the country at the tax payers expense and everything else they waste our money on. As far as defense I do not consider black water and all the other no bid contractors a legitimate use of the tax payers monies. If the diplomats want security they should pay for it themselves.
You''''re the sucker if you think your government gives a ***** about you."
So, without a government, you advocate anarchy, and in case you haven''t noticed, the country has changed muchly since 1913 (but my guess is you haven''t noticed). Back before the turn of the twentieth century, America was an agrarian society, and so everyone was able to farm or raise what one needed to survive.
It is incredible that you and Ron Paul''s minions would abolish welfare: what on earth do you suggest to take its place? Or do you morons propose that we "eliminate" the poor?
"Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
Of course, where you advocate the complete liberty of firearms, mowing down the poor wretches because they are poor would be far easier and cheaper than actually feeding and housing them ... - Reply to this comment
- "Actually, nobody thinks much about him AT ALL, except we "little people" on these comments boards are getting REALLY, REALLY, REALLY SICK AND TIRED OF ALL OF YOUR SPAM!"
Can I get an AMEN?? AMEN!!!!! I don''t usually think of RP until I have to wade through the excrement of the spamming posts here by his "prophets." So, if I don''t think about RP until I have to suffer with the spam on page after page, then I know he hasn''t a snowballs chance in he11 of going further. I never knew the guy until the spamming. So thanks you RP cultists, you have really helped your great leader and gawd. - Reply to this comment
- Well I just Spent some time online researching this so called "NRO-Web site", it appears nothing more than a Fraudulent "Republican-Ran Web site", who claims BUSH-CHENEY Adminstration has done a fine job, and that the Economy is doing very well "(Despite record numbers of foreclosures and job lay offs)", and futher more states that they''ve done a great job on IRAQ !!! Now unless I just jumped out of the Pumpkin patch yeaterday, this " MONA CHAREN" who wrote this crazy Idiotic article, must have woke up in a Come herself to be stupid enough to believe anything shes writtin or,else, she loves to create whats known as SPIN, to the few Clueless Idiots out there that actually believe this or anything else shes writtin. She obviously has the education of a 3rd Grader, and it shows just by the way she wrote her story and the halfazzed facts she tries to convey ! Its been a while since I met anybody this utterly stupid !!!

- someone should tell the stutterer that says Ron Paul has no chance that its shallow minded sheep like him who believe the lies politicians have been telling us is why this country is in such sad economic shape. If he had the balls to take a stand against the hypocracy and injustice against the American people by voting a president who is standing up against corruption then we can begin to take back our country.
But he will probably follow along like a good yew. - Reply to this comment
- Where I live in Iowa about 35% of the voters are registered independants and there are Ron Paul signs everywhere.
The libertarian tradition is very deep in American politics, especially in places like here in Iowa.
The ''independants'' and ''libertarians'' once had some voice in the Republican party, but as this inaccurate ''hit'' piece shows -- the libertarians are no longer welcome in the Republican party. Unless you tow the official Bush party line you are excommunicated. The Bush/republican far right, anti-libertarian, pro-war, police state, corrupt, deficit spending, anti-environment group is done.
Personally, I am a libertarian leaning progressive democrat. I hope the democrats can pick up some of the libertarian ideals (smaller government, more civil liberties, less regulation, lower taxes, drug law reform, gun rights, privacy rights, greater transparency, less secrecy, open courts, jury nullification, more local autonomy, medical freedom, freedom of expression, and so on). - Reply to this comment
- If the Idiot who wrote this story knew as much as he''d like to let on, then he''d know better ! Obviously he doesn''t and it shows ! I''m NOT a fan of Ron Paul either, but, I have listened to Alex Jones (WWW.INFOWARS.COM), for several Years, and altho I don''t necessairly agree with everything, he has brought out some very Valid points, about what our government is up to, and I myself have actually witnessed some of what he talks about thru out the country ! So to label him a Conspiracy Theorist or nut, makes me believe that obviously the Author of this story leads a somewhat sheltered life, if they believe the government is that Okie-Dokie Honest. Then they probably don''t believe "IRAN-CONTRA" or "Watergate", exsisted, or, that there was a conspiracy to take out JFK !!

- Mona Charen has been a Neoconscum apologist from day 1, backing the Decider-in-Chimp''s programs all the way.
Even if everything Mona said about Ron Paul were proven true, if the next thing she said was that the sky is blue, it would still be advisable to run outside and check.
And any word published by the Mouth of Sauron, NRO, needs to be carefully scrutinized. These are the folks who think the Bushit presidency is a great triumph for America. - Reply to this comment
- Can any of you Ron Paul supporters explain how he can get rid of the IRS, stop or reduce your taxes, and still finance the government, the army, navy and air force (all national defense necessities). Pay the $500 billion dollars (every year) in interest on the $9 trillion national debt, let alone pay it back?
This man is a snake-oil salesman and, like a wise man once said, there%u2019s a sucker born every minute.
What did we do before the income tax ****? Before 1913 the government got along just fine. It''s funny how the federal reserve came about the same time as the income tax. Another fraud on the American people. The money they steal from you goes to the interest the federal reserve charges for the loans they make to the government. I for one am tired of paying for bridges to nowhere, welfare, politicians flying around the country at the tax payers expense and everything else they waste our money on. As far as defense I do not consider black water and all the other no bid contractors a legitimate use of the tax payers monies. If the diplomats want security they should pay for it themselves.
