National Review Online: Attempt To Force Balance In Talk Radio Is Wrongheaded
- Who wants to waste their precious time listing to the questionable opinions of ANY political radio talking-head? As for Rush, why would opinions of a proven junkiie carry any significance to anyone with a brain?

- rdNearTheZo,
Again, with the now PROVEN leftist bias in the MSM, one could argue that "talk radio" and Fox News ARE fair! America must agree as FN kicks all other (combined) cable news boutie! Newspapers are laying off.......network news viewership is dying (literally).
Fairness is finally coming BACK after a 40+ year absence. - Reply to this comment
- "he fact is, liberals simply haven%u2019t attracted talk-radio audiences."
The idea is that so many stations are owned by conservatives that won't allow Liberal talk show hosts to even attempt to build an audience let alone fail. I won't complain like you all would like me to. I'll simply point out that once more a conservative is leaving out an important point and trying to portray the situation in a different light. The public airwaves are just that public with licenses to use them. Where Liberal radio has been heard it has done quite well thank you. The majority of America isn't conservative. It makes up about a third of the population with the rest moderate and liberal. - Reply to this comment
- "I guarantee if Archie Bunker did exist he would tune them in! (Fox & Rush)"
Guess your selective intelligence missed the report last week about the MSM being biased to the LEFT by a factor of 9:1? CBS didn't cover it - big surprise there, eh?
Enjoy your Koo-Aid. - Reply to this comment
- It is nothing new to me that the majority of the posts to this story attack the person and not the ideas. Ad hominem attacks illustrate a lack of substance and CBS Opinion pieces seem to be a clarion call for these kinds of responses.
Rush Limbaugh lies, therefore, all conservatives are idiots. The NYT lies, therefore, all liberals are idiots.
Please.
If we apply the "fairness doctrine" to EVERYTHING, wouldn%u2019t that be %u201Cfair%u201D? What would that get us? And who exactly would decide what is "fair"?
For myself, a right-leaning independent, I don't like the idea of this "fairness doctrine" because it implies the government attempts to dictate market forces. It hasn't worked in the past and I won't work in the future. And for those who are in favor of this? Why? - Reply to this comment
- Community radio is dead. There is no local news.

I live in Atlanta and we have more "local" radio stations than I could name! Not sure what you're getting at with your comment. - Reply to this comment
- Notice that you can comment on articles like Rush and the WWE wrestler, but can't on things like the Gay Kiss or Ted Kennedy? LOL, talk about censorship.

- Surveying 257 stations owned by the top-five commercial station groups,
And herein lies the problem people!!!
Community radio is dead. There is no local news. Local ownership of the people's airwaves is a relic of the past.
Sad. Sad indeed. - Reply to this comment
