How many honkys have applied for the same jobs given to illegals? But were turned down, cited as "overqualified"?

We offshore jobs for people to strive to because it's cheaper. (Don't give me the bile about them being more intelligent. I was in a class today which also featured an Indian... Let's just say I'm sick of stereotypes, of either direction, aimed at either ethnicity, or others. It's bull, and in today's case quite the opposite was true.)

But I digressed. We bring in people who came here illegally because we call our own with college degrees (who likely have loans to pay back) "overqualified".

So what use is a college degree unless your country of origin ISN'T America?

While offshoring is technically a 'small' issue right now, it's only going to grow more popular. And we all know the truth as to how to make America competitive again. The difference is, the cost of workers in America is higher because the cost of living is higher in America. The imbalance of wages allows that $10/hr for an Indian to be a luxury. But impossible to live on here; especially when some companies demand a Bachelor's degree for said $10/hr job.

What is ultimately to happen to America? Why don't our Corporate American countrymen care? I have no qualms pulling my own weight. But nobody can pull their own weight in a vacuum.

Harp1963, while you cite Biblical verse about taking care of the least of these, you purposely left out the Lord's instruction to be good citizens and obey your government's laws. So you may very well be a Christian, but by using scripture to promote wholesale violations of the law, you're also a hypocrite.

And Patriot75...it doesn't matter how hard they work. No one has the right to violate our laws with impunity. We don't have to take in immigrants at all. We choose to do so, with generous amounts of legal immigration. You're in effect defending the corrupt businesses that exploit everyone by encouraging illegal labor and the violation of the law. Americans are very compassionate. But Americans aren't stupid. We know we can't take in the whole world. In a population of less than 300 million, 20 million current immigrants is excessive by any rationale, especially if they're here illegally.

If crossing the border illegally whether it be from Mexico or Canada and they are caught, it should be a mandatory felony. If these illegals knew beforehand, they could do hard time if they get caught, they might think twice about doing this or paying someone to smuggle them across the border. Our healthcare system is being stressed by a lot of these people who come here get pregnant and don't have jobs or benefits to pay for the health care of giving birth. It's disgusting that this constantly goes on. They are over populating our county and causing a lot of stress on our heathcare system. They don't pay taxes, The people who pick up these day laborers should also be fined a stiff penalty and do things the right way and hire people who are unemployment and do work in construction and hard labor industry. I try to understand, I read, I converse, but I cannot get past the simple fact, illegal alien. I can see this is a snot nosed kid from the east. Well ma'am ... we do know what Illegal Aliens do in this country and what their children do. We are posted in LA and so that you may be informed click the site above.

1. Illegal aliens chose to come to this country to do the jobs you describe because their country could care less about their welbeing. You should do a column on the conditions in the countries these people come from brfore you start making treasonous postings like this.

2. the agreed wage they get is their reward, and they are happy to get it. Not to mention the off season benefits they receive like: Foodstamps, childbirth, welfare, dental care and the like. And they are happy to get it, they certainly couldn't receive those benefits in their homeland.

Your article speaks as though someone went on a mission to kidnap and detain these people. The conditions in their homelands drove them to these arraingments.

Face the truth and do an article about the countries they come from and stop talking about what you don't know about.

I disagree with this article based on personal experience with the ATTITUDES of illegals that have tried to push me around because I am disabled & use a service dog. Me & my dog have been victimized many times over by ILLEGALS, mainly Mexicans. Many have 1) thrown their children ON my dog, 2) claimed my dog was their dog & wanted me to "hand him over", insist that I pay for their meals or families or be given free meals by restaurant because of my service dog. It was either supposedly being "terrifying" or "interrupting" their meal. Whether I was there first or not never mattered. In one instance, one "green card" patron engaged me physically which put him in the hospital for four weeks needing reconstructive surgery due to me busting up his face and rib cage, his wife freaked out & was wondering how a handicapped man could fight. I weigh around 260 and have good upper body strength & 18+ years of martial arts, I got my hands on him and it was over, simple as that. All problems I ever encountered were illegal Hispanic related & I am one third Hispanic myself, inter-racism does exist. The problem was total disregard for the FEDERAL LAW, mainly the ADA, and if they think they can disregard that, why would I think they would be legal productive citizens? They have NO problem in violating anyones rights, and my attitude is based on experience, no one else influenced it but illegals. Is that being prejudice against overall free citizenship at taxpayers' expense?

Alright Barbara, since you seem to think it is alright for illegals to break into and move into your home as long as they clean it and do the lawns.... Please post your address and we can arrange to have 20-90 illegals ready to move in within the week.
By the way, you have to go by the same rules that WE US citizens go by
1) you don't get to pick and choose, you just have to live with whoever shows up. You don't get to choose how many live in your house
2) you aren't allowed to have them checked for third world diseases, you take your chances just like we do
3)you pay for their education, medical bills, incarceration fees etc out of your pocket
4)None of them speak English or will make any attempt to learn, your children must learn spanish now as all their classes are taught half in spanish
5)Two or three of them might be be child molestors, rapists, drug dealers, or gang members. You aren't allowed to even ask which ones
6)You have to pay the hospital bills of any accidents caused by uninsured unlicensed drivers out of your pocket.
7) you have to train one of them for your job and give it to them because she is going to work for half of what you are currently paid. Besides, you don't write in spanish and she does. Then you have to try to continue paying for the 20-90 illegals bills still living in your home without a job. You are still responsible for their welfare. After all, they did clean your house and mow your yard.

A strong majority of Americans-including nearly two-thirds of Republicans-favors allowing illegal immigrants to become citizens if they pay fines learn English and meet other rquirements, a new Los Angeles Times/Bloomberg poll has found. That's brilliant. Take a poll in Los Angeles where the Mexicans outnumber the rest of the population by 3 to 1 and then expect an unfavorable poll result. Yeah - real smart.

I work in a healthcare setting and I cannot tell you how many immigrants come in here and are not paying by insurance or private pay, it is the goverment who is paying. Meaning we the TAYPAYERS are paying for their treatment.

This country does not owe illegal immigrants a ____thing. Their home countries, mainly Mexico,
should take care of their own populations and not
encourage their people to illegally migrate here.

Basically what the Washington elite want is a class of slave labor. But once illegal immigrants get citizenship status, they won't work for slave wages. How many will stick around to pay a fourth of their earnings to the IRS?

Notably absent in the article is the number of illegal immigrants who are here because of the lucrative drug trade. Ask any law enforcement officer along our southern border what is the number one thing confiscated from those failing to sneak across the border. Its drugs in quantities to make for a career in the U.S.

If we owe illegal immigrants, just imagine how much we owe the American Indians and the families of the slaves we abused.
