Americans should at least get an Attorney General that can remember something. The least he can do is remember that he is an AMERICAN.
For now the guy is a pathetic joke.
He is an example of someone whose brain runs on the methane fumes of his boss.

Janet Reno supervised the following Department of Justice action:

The firing of all 93 U.S. attorneys, about which she commented, "I have asked for their resignations at the request of the President%u2026"

How many lies did she tell about this act? How many laws did she break with this action? Replacing the Attorneys of another President, as in this case, is and always has been acceptable. That is NOT what happened here. Gonzo is a LIAR and a Criminal PERIOD!!

Illegal Wiretapping.

Lying under oath.

Torture.

Not doing his job.

Cover ups. The attorney firing scandal is the least of the illegal activity coming out of the Department of Injustice. Remember, this guy is in charge of the FBI, SS, and the CIA. Scary.

Being a FASCIST Elitist.

Plenty of reasons to fire Gonzales. Then, Lord Bush will just hire another lackey.

There will be another 9/11. The Corporate Mass Media will LIE about who did it. We will Invade Iran. America will go into MArtial Law.

Prelgovisk,

The firing issue aside, what do you have to say about Gonzales' role in authorizing the wiretapping of innocent Americans' telephones?
I was horrified when I heard that Gonzales had
even attempted to force Ashcroft into signing an authorization for even more invasive spying while on his hospital bed! How disgraceful! Behavior like that is clearly immoral and should be illegal, even if it isn't.

Besides, I thought the Republicans were the party of personal accountibility?! Gonzales admits no accountibility. He can't even remember what he had for breakfast yesterday, let alone his reasons for firing federal attorneys! He's a liability. I hope congress impeaches him and anyone else who tramples on the constitution like he has.

I am an Independent Voter and I will remain that way. I shall never vote again for a Republican again after being exposed to their eloquent line of B.S..

Is it illegal to fire someone for political reasons, or just unpopular?

Federal Marshals are fired and hired based on administration changes all the time.

What happened is not popular, but not illegal.
It happened often in the Clinton administration.

Get some perspective. Janet Reno made mistakes and kids were burned alive at Waco. Gonzales makes a mistakes and a few lawyers are unemployed for a few weeks.

I think Gonzales should say, "Yeah, I did it some, and I'm glad I did it. My only regret is that I could not out do Janet Reno."

Get over it. If there is no crime, all the investigation will achieve is to get a guy to admit he did something people don't like, but that the Democrats did even worse.
