Allen Pizzey Questions The Political Motives Behind Some Assessments Of Iraq Security
- What.. we're still in Iraq?.... I thought we'd already condemned Bush, Cheney & Rumsfeld for war crimes & enlisted true world aid in helping to stabilize Iraq.. Oh.. guess I was dreaming..
We need to help Iraq gain some reasonable control- (I have NO idea how,,that should have been thought of, prior to invasion & destabilization of the infrastructure by Bush 'experts') - it was a partisan 'country' created by the Brits 50+ years ago.. did we EVERR really have a reason to invade?..
US (that's us..the people, the soldiers- don't call them troops- that's SO impersonal) out of Iraq, as soon reasonable, or only as SUPPORT to the Iraqi police/ military. BUSH out of office!
Let's MAKE SURE Bush's finger is off the trigger.. we don't need him creating any more post-alcoholic stress in the world at large-- he can live in his own little world with that.

- I used to respect McCain and Powell as the only two republicans with any sense, and Lieberman as a similar democrat. Foolish me. Powell sold his soul by kowtowing to bush and his puppet masters, and McCain and Lieberman are going to suffocate if they don't pull their hard heads out of the sand.
They've lost ANY future support from me...and many others it appears. - Reply to this comment
- Encirlcle the oil fields and protect them from sabotage and get everyone else the hell out of there. It really is the only reason we are in Iraq. Bush should just admit it and stop sacraficing young American lives.. Lives that have been cut short by deceit and mismanagement. The President is the Commander in Chief. He has had four years to win with the best military ever in the history of the world. And he blew that. He is a "C" student in every way...

Their actions speak louder than words... "Repubs" Therefore the press is doing their duty. Also remember the repubs give voice to the intolerant. So the shear hypocrisy of every move that does not follow scripture or the Evangelical way is fodder for the press. They deserve the treatment, they are dishonest and secretive and need to be kept in check. Clinton never tried to have my rights taken away. Rights that were granted to us by the founding father's for no other reason than to protect those in power from themselves. "IF YOU WANT TO TEST A MAN'S CHARACTER, GIVE HIM POWER' Abe Lincoln.
WAR should always be questioned especially one that was as misguided and lazily managed as this one. They are questioning the lack of thought analysis and wisdom that was apparent in this mistaken war. Suck it up they are losing the policy and theological battle. They are just like the islamists with their Religious Zealousness.. - Reply to this comment

Why is it that the Network FOX, which brought us some of the most morally corrupt show's in history containing more references to *** (s*x) and drugs and other non conservative subject matter ie; Married with Children, can now eschew the liberal ideas that a free press has always represented. Entertainment be it news or other types of media does not represent Conservative ideas because they are outdated and backwards. Go to your church for these outdated ideas. Let us move forward with liberal progressive ideas that keep us from being just like the islamists we are trying to defeat. Why can't O'Reilly and the other's understand that Religion has been an excuse for war throughout history. And yes History really is repeating itself - Reply to this comment

What is the good news that should be reported by CBS news? Tell me. - Reply to this comment
- Who's really surprised that Allen Pizzey and CBS can't find a safe place?? They wouldn't report on it anyways. CBS, doesn't report the news anymore ........ they "make" the news.

Sorry about the poor typing, I meant:
Tell me, as I really want to know, what IS the good news in Iraq that Fox News reports? Do they report good news from Iraq? If not, why not? Could it be that there is none to report or that it is too dangerous to go out an get stories to report on? - Reply to this comment

Excellent point and THAT is what this is all about isn't it? The security of this nation. What if we went into a crisis right now somewhere in the world. Our Military could NOT properly defend us. There comes a time when we must do what's right for the nation and not for someone ego. Bush is a failure and it grows worse with each passing hour. Folks Bush would completely bankrupt this nation before he would admit he was wrong or even compromise. He really needs to get out. - Reply to this comment
- The fact that visiting administration officials sweep in unannounced, under the cover of darkness, then fly out a few hours later confirms how "safe" Baghdad is.

Best point today. Some people on here would follow this Fraud some call a President off a Clift. How much has it cost us? This LIE of Bush's? Just how much has it cost us and for what? You don't have to be super intelligent to figure out this dude is INCOMPETENT. We have a crisis in Social Security coming at us as well as Medicare. Now I would love for the folks in Iraq to have freedom and it truly is in their hands but we have NO business spending our future on the freedom for OTHER people. Enough already!! - Reply to this comment

- We know they won't just vacation there in Iraq; they will have further ambitions against us; if they beat us here, how do we redeploy (aka admit defeat) but limit what they can do with their victory...

If you BUY the fraud that's been put out by the Bush White House you are right. IF we believe those who have CONSISTENTLY been right about Iraq, We're in a Civil War and we need to get out. The problem with a Civil War is that our kids do NOT make good policemen and that's exactly what they are being asked to do. To continue to fund and fight for a FRAUD is WRONG and it will be wrong to the folks of that nation for a LONG LONG time. We INVADED these people, killed how many no one knows and we did it based on a LIE. Now I know you fascist like to start with the failed intel and all that *** but where it counts, in the mind of a Young Arab, we LIED to the entire world about Iraq. To continue to occupy that country against the wishes of the citizens of that nation we are wrong. Can't win that fight, no matter how long you stay. That "militant" we killed was probably the cousin of the guy with one of ours tonight. That's not a good place to be folks. - Reply to this comment
- Hullo! Calling William Kristol! Howzabout more of your neocon blather about how well the surge is going and all the good things happening that don't get reported? Do you think any of those "good things" haven't been suspended by now?

- This administration has had 4 uninterrupted years to "win" this war, and they are no closer than they were in June 2003. No Congress has held them back, no citizen outrage has stopped them. They have lost it all on their own. The neocon wet dream turned out to be a nightmare. They keep promising "progress" but it just keeps getting worse. Time for George W. Bushit and his mindless followers to admit it--they are LOSERS!

- With a Baghdad view such as what McCain has bodes poorly for the Repubs.
It shows continued denial and ignorance about the war and how it is going.

- Baghdad isn't "safe" - but progress over 2 months ago is apparent, not much, but better than none. Anyhow, redployment may be our only good option now; it may be time to just let the Iraqis duke it out since they've shown no ability to compromise, they'd rather fight old feuds and exact revenge on each other. BUT, as I always ask, what next!? Redeployment in the left-wing's eyes is just withdrawal - a true redeployment within the immediate region requires something more in the argument - redeployment to where? And when we do, how do we protect our vital interests there (AKA our allies the Kurds who have the only real stable progressive society outside Israel in the Middle East) and prevent those who defeated us (it was Al Qaeda and Iran who devised the strategy after all to foment civil strife to ensure we couldn't establish a democracy in the Middle East and ensure this was bloody and long enough to wear down our impatient public) from capitalizing further? We know they won't just vacation there in Iraq; they will have further ambitions against us; if they beat us here, how do we redeploy (aka admit defeat) but limit what they can do with their victory...
