"Republicans aren't the only people who have a problem accepting . . . global warming is . . . Libertarians" [do to] Posted by OlGreyGhost

This is exactly how Libertarians and Republicans lose relevance in modern society. You can bury your head in the sand. But the truth still comes out. And like the dark ages, we have our Copernicus to tell us what science can prove.

Scientist may not like Gore any more than any scientist likes any politician. In the political world, you make complex issues seem simple, to appeal to the least common denominator. Even in the recent Congressional testimony, Al had to dumb it down so that he did not lose too many Republicans. He explained distributed power generation as something like parallel processing and got cut off by a NeoCon pit bull congressman.

Republicans aren't the only people who have a problem accepting the hypothesis that global warming is either man-made or man-solved. Libertarians and other rationally minded people are able to see through the socialist propaganda into the real science of climate change and the real culprit being the sun. A large number of people fault persons who don't buy into the junk science as being in the pocket of Big Energy but look to where the Green socialists are investing their time and money - like alternative energy sources that can't make it in the real business world because they are defective but if government can force people to buy their products then they will all end up sitting pretty...

We do not want to have any child, nor adult left behind for that matter. Global Warming is a fact. With that in mind, I have prepared this very simple and analogous quiz:

1) There is a wild fire blowing toward your house. You can see the flames in the distance and they are moving in your direction very quickly. It doesn%u2019t matter whether an arsonist set the fire or it was an act of God. What would be your choice? (This is neither a negotiable nor a political question.) (Choose only one)

a) Sit on the front porch and ask God to protect you, believing that you have his divine protection simply because you asked for it. You just sit there and watch it come.

b) You take out your cell phone and call 911.

c) You had seen photos of other homes that burned in similar fires, so you decide to follow the well thought out evacuation plan you prepared in advance.

d) None of the above.

Answer: ____________

Does this help to clarify the situation?

They aren't skeptical, they just get all of their "news" from Russ the blowhard. They wouldn't dare look at any evidence themselves.

If the Republican Party are genuinely skeptical then for once I agree with them. It is a bloody scam, a rip off, a swindle and anything other name you can think of for taking folks for a ride. The real question is, What is behind the scam ? Obviously Money but if thats the real hidden agenda then why are the Republicans attacking the premise, it's right up their street surely. Even Greenpeace disagree on this one. We know who is to blame for the Bird Flu scare, thats easy, it's Big Pharma but who is behind this one and why ?? Answers Please to Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy.

Ever see Monty Python's Holy Grail?
Replace Arthur with Scientific community
Replace Black Knight with most Republicons

Arthur: There sir knight, you are defeated. The day is mine.

Black Knight: No I'm not.

Arthur: Yes you are, I cut your arm off. (points to bloody arm on ground)

Black Knight: No you didn't.

Arthur: Yes I did...

Black Knight: It's just a flesh wound. (attacking) Have at ye...

and so on and so on....

Hello, McFly. There's a 12000 pound elephant in the living room.... It's the Republicon elephant.

People around the world are driving cars 24 hours a day seven days a week along with all the industrial emmissions and the Republicans continue to deny that our way of life is contributing to the polar ice caps melting. It doesn't take a super genius geologist to figure out that we are in a oven that is on pre-heat. The Republicans are retarded.

tokra1:

I don't presume to know what is happening on other planets. There could be multiple reasons why other planets are warming or cooling. But this discussion is about planet Earth. Period.

You seem to be the dense one. Try to focus on the subject at hand. Or go play with your pirate friends :)
