not meaning to pick on you.
I've yet to get those who tout the health of the economy to respond in any meaningful manner to the real facts when confronted with them.
where is all this data that supports such a healthy economy?
people WANT to believe that the economy is healthy because the bush (and neocons) administration stresses what looks good for them and completely ignores the elephant sitting behind them! - Reply to this comment

- erichsh: I don't know about other people but I tried to point out the obvious inconsistencies of the WMD claims when they were made and my points were ignored. Having had Nuke experience I guess it was easier for me to see the lies. Having a limit on what I could say and so many gullible people that just accept what they are told I fear we've already "lost" what democracy we've had. Please bring back Habeus Corpus, free speech, privacy and civil rights. None of that was addressed in the State of the Union.

didn't you hear Webb's rebuttal?
you can emphasize a part of the economy, but ignore the rest all you want, but that doesn't change anything.
how is it that clinton was able to turn around the economy in such a short time and bush had destroyed what progress that was made in so little time?
this contry had a budget surplus. was well on the way to fully funding social security and a (get this) 9 trillion dollar surplus.
bush wiped every bit of it away.
now all we face are rising debt and deficits as far as the eye can see. the economy is good? because a small section has record profits does not mean that the economy is good....or healthy.
btw
if you REALLY want the facts they are available, but do you really? - Reply to this comment
- jeannec3: funny you mention your admiration for both Hitler and Bush in the same post. Guess I can see how fascism might be admirable but is it endorsed by your religion? Osama admires power too. Personally I believe diplomacy worked very well before the republicans turned it into a dirty word.

- Hmm, am I getting this right? He's offering a 15k tax break to people that can't afford health insurance?? Hey if they needed a 15k tax break they'd be wealthy enough to pay for the insurance. Topping it off, employers will either jack up the supposed cost or justify dropping the few who are getting health benefits saying it's offsetting the minimum wage increase and telling their employees to "go Private".
Sounds more like another giveaway to the corporations with employer loopholes justifying dropping that benefit. So, the insurance companies that are being SUED for Katrina NONPAYMENT can recover from the suits by NOT paying for all the PRIVATE health insurance they'll pick up from this latest "great idea" from the top. HELLO!! POOR DON'T NEED TAX BREAKS! THEY NEED FAIRNESS!! - Reply to this comment
- Let's consider one of the Bush lies from 911. On June 1, 2001 VP Cheney took NORAD's airliner shootdown authority away from the Generals and assumed that authority. Now I find it unconceivable that Cheney, at least at that point, didn't become aware of the ongoing NORAD drills involving airliners being hijacked and used as weapons. But, Bush maintains that no one in his administration had considered that possibility. Not possible. There are also other indications that his administration 'knew', but let's just consider this one for now. Links;

- Anyone who believes anything Bush says is like Charlie Brown trying to kick the football one more time. How many times do you need to get burned before you learn ? BushWorld doesn't exist ! These people deny science, which is based on repeatable cause and effect relationships. They are superstitious, magical thinkers who have no interest in the real world.
