What a bunch of whiny, boring, obvious, self-righteous nonsense this article is. I've never read Pollitt's poetry, but I hope it's better than this tripe. It reads like a bad send-up from a jilted 11th grader. Not surprisingly, it's from the pages of The Nation. I could suggest Ms. Pollitt write for The Onion instead, but she's not funny either. Tough spot for a writer...not profound and not funny. Given these limitations, maybe she should try her hand at writing Hallmark greeting cards.
