No way does Russell respect for how Brandon was "the author of his own fate".
Even with the limited reveal of editing, there's no hiding Brandon's lack of maturity and any understanding of Survivor. Everyone could clearly see the excitement in his eyes when he considered "losing it"... this guy looks for trouble... who pats himself on the back for going nuts. There is NO WAY... NO WAY that Survivor will have him back.
That episode was to salvage the show... they didn't think, hey this is going to be awesome to have tribal here... Jeff didn't WANT to massage Brandon... everybody there, except Brandon, knew they were dealing with an unstable (read: unsafe) person, while managing a major production... and that was the fastest way to get the rabid coyote out of the henhouse.
There's a saying in the production world... never work with animals or children. Brandon is both.
Russell's first season was awesome... after that? Not so much, but I'm still a fan of his and think Russell has a lot to offer the show... Brandon? Nah... he's done.
Brandon and Russell are two of the most entertaining men that I have ever seen on Survivor hands down! Big fans of both of them. Yes, Brandon does have some anger management problems and also needs help, but that does not mean that the guy doesn't have any good points! He stands up for himself, you know where you stand with him, he has a good heart, he gets it wrong sometimes but is then man enough to apologize for it, which is more than I can say for many!! let him who is without sin, cast the first stone! Oh, and let's not forget how sexy he is :-)
I guess the Hantz family's intellect doesn't extend to proper grammar. Hit the books, Brandon. Who would have thought, in this crazy bunch of relatives, that Russell is the normal one?
definite whack job...as christian as a fig newton, all demon eyed and tattooed. spewing video game rhetoric and hatfield and mcoy-type family loyalty. needs to go back on his meds....phillip...ah, the lifers for special forces...you know how they are...plays the game extremely well and cagily...brandon just doesn't get it...too busy compensating for his bully day trauma. he is just a punk kid that needs to grow up and everyone else needs to get over all this emotional alliance doo doo and move on...it simply does not exist! this is definitely so UN reality like...but i watch because a good meltdown is always worth it!
I tuned into the CBS morning show anticipating to see a mental health professional on to discuss this. I was really disappointed in the network's failure to take the opportunity to educate the public on what mental illness looks like with this perfect example. Brandon Hantz is destined for prison or Celebrity Rehab one day. When that happens, remember you read it here first.
It was so obvious that the reason Brandon acted like he did was because he got so much flack from Russell and his father for how he acted the last time he played Survivor. They found such fault with him being kind and playing the game as a Christian, and not winning. So this time, he wanted to show them that he could be a "bad ass". All he ended up doing was showing that he was as much of a bad ass as the other Hantz's who have done reality shows. Can we now... please.... not see any more Hantz's in reality TV? Please?
I thought this whole "Survivor" episode was an embarrassment to the show and to CBS. Please don't give this guy any more publicity. This interview is the definition of the ramblings of a mentally ill person. Leave him alone and just pay for him to get help. please.
